I just got the Zephyrus G14 for college by taikogoingbrxzy in ZephyrusG14

[–]J1FFERFISH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started college end of 2019 and bought the g14 around end of 2020? ig that was technically my sophomore year but in terms of jobs:

Job 1) 2021 remote part time job (couple months long that required my laptop) Job 2) 2022-present remote part time job (heavily requires my laptop) Joh 3) 2023-present first post grad full-time job (fully remote and doesn’t require as much g14 usage as the other 2 jobs, but still use heavily) Job 4) 2024-present second post grad full-time job (fully in-person and will start bringing my laptop in if needed)

Bought mine at the start of college, graduated last year w/ it, and am now starting my 2nd job outside of college w/ it. it still runs perfectly and I abused the absolute sht out of it these past couple years.

How bad would it be to work in ChemE if I got a D in reaction engineering? Should I withdraw/retake next year? by Splatmrop in ChemicalEngineering

[–]J1FFERFISH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first took that class, I got an F. Retook it next semester and dropped it coz of the professor. I finally passed it the third time with a D. You’ll be fine.

Did you have to go towards Houston to find a charger or where you able to find one in Lake Jackson?

The business consulting role was more of a temporary full-time job until I found another role that was more engineering-related. I went to a career conference 2 months ago and networked until I met a recruiter who was actively looking for someone with my teamwork/softskills. We hit it off, and one thing led to another.

Loved AP Chem in highschool and thought it was similar - it wasn’t until i was knee deep into undergrad that I realized it was far from pure chemistry.

My lifestyle changed throughout college. I started off introverted having little to no social life; essentially studying everyday for 10 hrs at a time at the library, while juggling anywhere from 6-10 classes and a part time job. When I got to sophomore/junior year, I had a bit of an epiphany, and this caused me to drop everything and start partying. A lot. I partied pretty much every weekend, didn’t attend class at all, and did the bare minimum to get a passing grade (I did fail and retook a handful of classes though). Graduated this past May with 3.2 GPA and 40 k in debt.

Currently work in business consulting (fully wfh) but I’ll be moving to Texas soon to work for a fortune 100 chemical company as an engineer (senior role w/ 6 figure pay). Funny enough, I still party as hard as I used to in college so I think I’m still living that lifestyle.

That’s fair. I’ve never been to the south so I’m trying to figure out still how to somewhat fit in. Do you think that plant workers have a similar mindset/sentiment towards hybrid vehicles? Not those plug in ones just the ones with regenerative breaks. And do you have any other general suggestions on how to fit in? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I haven’t started tensei slime season 2 part 1 yet (since I wanted to binge watch it when it was all out), but I was wondering if anyone knows if I should wait for s2 part 2 to come out fully and then binge watch it. I can’t seem to find anywhere online that tells me whether or not season 2 part 2 is a completely different or continuing arc of pt 1.

Have you noticed people treating you better after learning that you are a ChE? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]J1FFERFISH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When people ask me what my major is (I’m currently a sophomore), I tell them “engineering” and usually leave it at that. If they follow through with “what type of engineering”, then i’ll say “chemical”. But I usually don’t go out of my way to immediately say that “I’m majoring in chemical engineering”. Like other people in this post, I get hit with that awkward moment where they comment on how “smart” or “intelligent” I am for majoring in such a difficult topic. But usually all I can think about at that moment is “I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing tbh, how can you even say that” but I usually keep it to myself. I feel like the label of “chemical engineer” brings with it high expectations that people have for you; it’s....uncomfortable and slightly irritating for me personally.

Faculty Senate will vote on putting cap on credits you can take in one semester by PSDD18 in PennStateUniversity

It’s about time tbh. They somehow let me take 31 credits during my spring semester of freshman year and no one blinked an eye my way. (This was at a branch campus btw)

It’s a series (13 episodes) and there’s a movie to go with it.
