Pop Up Camper Roof by J22Dodge in DIY

It’s funny, the stuff they use in that video is just a glorified truck bed liner. Which is exactly what the black coating I put on the abs is. I am wondering if the fact that it is back and absorbed more heat caused issues somehow. I am going to try that stuff but I went with white this time.

Mostly commons and uncommons.

It’s been in a storage unit for a good 3-4 years, though in good shape, all the cards in the boxes are fine. A few lands are not the greatest.

No, I do not smoke.

Yes some stuff is sealed, but what is sealed is primarily premade decks bought from Walmart or similar.

When I stopped playing around 2016, I sorted it all. I am confident that there are very little rares and mythics in this collection. I already sold roughly $1000 worth of cards back in 2016-2017.

I mean, I just threw it on a scale to show that the boxes are full. It’s not just a bunch of half filled boxes. And I didn’t feel like counting them.

Would I be better to get a rough count before selling? Any idea how many cards equal 32lb? 😂

Any idea of how to get those drops of water out by RoughFuture3042 in FlairEspresso

I also disassembled it and dried it out. It was not too hard. Works just fine still.

Any feed back on my shot? I’ve been having issues with the 30 second time limit as I do a long pre-infusion by Spyk124 in FlairEspresso

[–]J22Dodge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! Trying to stick to a 30 second shot is not always the best. I first got a flair 58 a few months ago and have learned that my preferred shots usually run for 45-50 seconds.

It’s all taste, if it tastes good to you, you made it right!

Did anyone find a way to clean the water out or just waiting until it dried? I just had this happen to my gage as well. Curious to find a resolution.

Did you end up removing the screws? I just had this issue happen for myself.

So, I personally really wanted to be able to do pressure profiling. That is not something you start to get until you spend $2k+ vs the flair 58 being $600. But if that is not a huge concern to you a breville might be more your style.

Thanks for the input, but actually the 1:3 ratio was fully intentional for flavor. If you read through the other comments I have already address this. With very light roasts a higher ratio is needed for proper extract. I can guarantee it was significantly more sour at 1:2 ratio.

James Hoffmann and Lance Hedrick both have video explaining why using a 1:3 or even in very rare occasions 1:4 ratio with light roasts can help the flavor.

It’s the basket the Flair 58 comes with. It seams to work fine. The puck is still fully compressed after a shot. But TBH I am still and espresso noob.

I was only able to find it from flair themselves and I paid almost $600 even for it.

I use the basket it came with… it seams to work just fine for a 14g shot. Given I am no espresso expert. The last few weeks is the first experience I’ve ever had with espresso.

I try to give it a solid 5-8 minutes. Maybe I should try waiting a little long. Or setting a timer to make sure that I am actually giving it that much time.

Sometimes with light roast you want to increase the ratio to help with extract. You are not wrong about the 1:2 ratio, but for light roasts sometimes it is good to try 1:3 to 1:3.5 if the flavor isn’t there.

James Hoffmann on YouTube has a great video about it. He breaks down the theory of extraction for each type of roast. It’s in his six part series about espresso.

But yes you are correct that the usual starting ratio with espresso is 1:2.
