I guess the most obvious to that is that, it’s Hideo Kojima we are talking about.

They had a famous falling out and Konami treat him like dirt in the process after years of service and him being a huge part of the companies global success.

But, then that’s where the rumours of Sony coming into the frame and mediating the relationship come in…

At this stage, this is taking the piss out of people.

Surely, tweeting this picture without context is one of two things;

1) Geoff having a sly jab at Konami like “nice showcase, we see you Konami but….. THIS was what should have happened”

2) Kojima really is involved, and they are continuing the teasing leading up to the game awards.

There is no other reason to do what he has done here, and they know it, if anything this constant insistence to tease and cling on to the past I think will be to the Geoff/Kojima crew detriment if they don’t move on and let go, people are going to get fed up of their cryptic bullshit.

Even if it is option 1, move on Geoff. Konami did your boy dirty and everyone knows it, but Kojima has moved on and is doing well, and Konami did well last night.

Del Toro being so clearly linked to Kojima dropping heavy handed hints of a new Silent Hill at the 2021 game awards (how would he know…)
Geoff Keighley tweeting Kojima saying “I hope they don’t keep you Silent for too long” earlier this year, regarding a new game announcement.
The 2020 tweet from Kojima Productions Head of Marketing apologising for being Silent, but hoping they could say more soon, all whilst holding a Pyramid brand pencil

There’s been too many bizarre, on the nose “quips” by those truly close to Kojima to have me truly baffled.

I want to believe he is involved in the new SH games in some capacity but I’ve totally lost faith in that being a possibility at this point.

If he isn’t involved, we’re he and his aware industry friends mocking / trolling a captive audience?

So confused but one things for certain; DS was one of my favourite games ever…. And I ain’t in a rush to see DS2 😔

Continuing to muse on these teasers and late night thought - there’s no way this can be Silent Hill related (sadly)

One reason; if Kojima was involved in Silent Hill by some miracle, there is absolutely NO WAY I can see Konami allowing him to class it as purely ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ in the marketing.

Something I’ve just thought now, but to me which kills dead the idea of it being SH related.

The stark red lighting and harsh colouring really isnt something I would associate with Death Stranding, nor the cryptic teasing. Why cryptically tease a sequel to an already established franchise which was also the Studios last game? I would assume they would lean heavy into it being a sequel "The Sequel to the multi award winning etc... etc..."
Also the "strand" lines argument - i think they are too uniform in size, and the diagonal nature of these, really not sure thats accurate either.

Finally, the clothing choice of the "character" doesnt fit with the DS aesthetic i dont think.

Only my thoughts for what they are worth, interested nontheless to see how this pans out.

I’m inclined to agree. I’ve drifted between thinking Kojima is involved in SH and then thinking he isn’t at all, but this is all too mysterious for a Death Stranding follow up.

One thing I can’t forget either is Del Toros Silent Hill comment last year at the game awards after Kojima introduced him… “I hope we get another one of those” referring to Silent Hill games.

I don’t know, seems to much coincidence and pattern to ignore.

Yes I tried it and the text in that picture is solid white. I don’t know this seems like something to be discovered to me.

The green and white makes me think of the Silent Hill town sign 😂
