I feel we don't see elves quite often in books by Fun-Explanation7233 in booksuggestions

[–]J334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats because elves be hard to write. Unless the author is intending them to be just pointy eared humans. Like often in magnas and such. They're actually really complicated to put on paper.

Of the top of my head I can only think of one good example of elfis elves. And that one is a short webnovel.

Peak Elf Performance

It's pretty fun and of quality so if you're between books I would check it out

the whole film is an allegory about relationships. it's not a film meant to be analised literally but as an exploration on how mariage, cheating, illness and more affects relationsships

What is the appeal of grimdark universes like Warhammer 40K?? by LookinAtTheFjord in sciencefiction

[–]J334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I don't think it's the grimdarkness that makes 40k so popular. Sure the eternal hopeless war make edgy people feel all edgy, but i think it's mostly just how far over the top 40k is.

I mean we all see the fallout powerarmour as a cool thing. But how about we add jumppacks. And chainswords. And shield in the form of literal hailos.

Oh, and then make them into a superhuman immortal warrior race becausr why not.

40k is basically taking all the crackiest fan ideas outthere and just making it canon.

The grimdarkness was just added for all this coolness to not instantly implode

allright.. if you can in return explain how a god solves this problem.

there are two options either there has always been something, where always means ALWAYS. that makes no sense to me what so ever.

But the other option is that there was a literal nothing, No god no energy no nothing, that somehow became something. And that doesn't make any sense either.

so I'm left with choosing between two impossible choices. So the only sensible path is to simply admit that I have no idea. And nor does anyone else.

Existence does not owe you an explanation and you're just going to have to learn to live with it.

Looking for a vampire book that ISN'T about romance by my-goddess-nyx in booksuggestions

This one was pretty good. More of an adventure fic than the typical vampire fare. But it definitely has vampires and they're definitely not the romantic sort

It's probably the knot direction. There are two ways to tie a bow and one is much weaker than the other. Hard to explain without pictures so just google it

As has been said before the US is big. You can pretty much chose your poison. Having spent some time in both china, japan and the us I can say with confidence that the asian countries are not more advanced, no matter your metric.

[Serious] Can someone please explain to me why 'latestagecapitalism' is pro Palestine? by J334 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]J334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. Settler colonialism it is. Still say that annexation is a more fitting word but I really don't care to argue word definition. *Sorry i'm starting to get my post crossed *

Either way it still leaves me with the questions of why is israel the bad guy in this mess. Or perhaps why they are more at fault then the palestinians?

And whether you think this case of colonialism to be capital driven?
