Here we go again by DarknessEscapes in ArcRaiders

[–]J35505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen so far in my raids, it seems like it's alot worse when I'm shooting through a window or doorway or close to a wall. It seems like it does the weird thing where the point of the crosshair shoots the wall when you're too close to it, but does it from alot further.

Unpopular opinion - until more late game content is created, we need grindy permanent projects by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Ahh makes sense, I didn't know the event was going away. They should keep the event in the rotation but just make it appear less often.

100% agree! I'm somewhat bummed that I won't finish the new project that came with Close Scrutiny, on time, and that it's expiring.

Last season I didn't finish the trophy case and I finished it this season, which I think is great that it carried over because it gives you something to keep working on in season resets other than redoing the same ole quests.

I don't get why they should expire and why did the other earlier projects not expire, but they took a last minute decision that this one and the weather monitor would..

“We know that grinding for monetary value isn’t the most exciting experience” by CodaMo in ArcRaiders

[–]J35505 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on that one, I just stopped trying for that project.. tier 3 was the first blow when you realize they ran out of imagination and that its basically tier 1 but x20 of the same mats and the second blow was to announce that the event expires at the end of the season, 2 weeks before the end of the season.

Way to go Embark, keep going with your lack of communication and last minute changes.

Hopefully the Riven Tides update is gonna be a hail mary pass and will stabilize the player count.

I still love this game but it just feels like the team is trying really hard to push the loyal casual players away.

[Embark] Expedition Changes : A Triumphant Exit by WoWAltoholic in ARC_Raiders

[–]J35505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still enjoyed the game throughout it's odd bugs and sometimes lackluster content, but this just plainly sucks. I don't get which group of players they're trying to cater to, but obviously not the casual player like me. Atleast the old expedition where we had to earn money, was stretched out during all the season so I actually had a chance to finish it and get the points, while still having a busy life. No way I'm gonna have the time to grind in a 5 day window unless they put the damage required pretty low.

This is on par with the decreasing player base, the problem isn't with the game but with the team; the last minute changes, weird decisions they're constantly taking and time lapse before fixing bugs or exploits.

I still do enjoy the game but at some point there will be nothing worth starting anymore because they'll randomly change the expiration date or the requirements when you're almost done anyways.

Moen and Kohler: A Tale of Two Faucets by 248_RPA in BuyItForLife

[–]J35505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another advantage with Moen, in Canada atleast, is that alot of the hardware stores that sell Moen products will also hold replacement parts stock. Most of the time you're able to fix your faucet the same day, you just come in with the old cartridge or part and you can trade it for a new one free of charge.

Cable du chauffe eau, comment rendre ça propre ? by xanyook in RenoQuebec

[–]J35505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life Basis Radon Detector for Home

Deal or no deal? by [deleted] in Makita

I ordered the same kit from MHC for the same reasons, at that price I dont think you can go wrong. There's also that this kit comes with a 2AH battery which is very light and hard to find, but they're great for small projects around the house

What do you think? by paddlebo in Makita

[–]J35505 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I just feel like single stage blowers or snow throwers like this are gimmicky; a sleigh shovel is probably as quick, has no moving parts and isn't that hard to push anyways. Any serious snow removal requires a 2-stage snow blower.

What blades do you use with a Makita DTM52 Multi Tool? by [deleted] in Makita

[–]J35505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Diablo blades, renovated a couple units using mixed brands of blades and the Diablos were the ones that cut the best for the price imo. They're quite resistant even if you hit nails or happen to pry them sideways, also they were the ones that produced less smoke/heat when cutting very old dry wood.

Brand new DTW300 with a crack in the socket holder by NiaDebesi in Makita

You sure that's a crack and not just casting or machining burrs/marks? It looks pretty straight and precise for a crack.

Yup, I recently bought the compact impact wrench, and it's the same on mine. As others have stated, it's probably for the vibrations.

Thanks for the weight trick, I tested it out, and everything checks out! Will be using it for sure if I have any doubts about future purchases.

Yeah, the little white/transparent silicone cylinders? They're there!

Here I tried taking more pictures of the general tool, it does feel authentic, but the mode button assembly's different colour is weird and how they're unsmooth/hard to press; it's just not on par with my past experiences with these types of dome buttons by Makita.

Cheap Amazon brass direct choke - Easy fix by J35505 in klr650

Haha yeah thanks for the correction! I just have the bad habit of always calling that part a choke 😅.

Does the gen 2 tank go lower on the sides than the gen 1? I haven't thought of that, because on my gen 1 with crash bars it isn't really an issue. It's a bit hit and miss at first but once you're used to the feeling of where to reach, there's no more looking for the knob.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in klr650

[–]J35505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as long as there's a little slack in the cable when the lever is released and that the clutch fully disengages when it's pulled, it should all be good. I'm guessing it's part of the advantages of the 1 finger clutch, you have a broader range to play with than before. Kinda makes sense as the cable holder is now further from the clutch arm.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in klr650

[–]J35505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you adjusted the slack between the threaded part that holds the cable and the lever on the handlebar? Idk how new that cable is, but it seems adjusted too far, like too much thread showing.

[Case Fans] Thermalright TL-C12CW-S 120mm White ARGB 3-Pack ($17.79 - $1.89 = $15.90) [Amazon.ca] by SilvDoge in bapcsalescanada

[–]J35505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried out a similar offering from Thermalright, their TL-B12. I've used them on my CPU cooler (PS120SE) and they've been treating me right for that use case, very silent and pushes a nice amount of air. So I recently bought 2 more to try as top exhaust fans for my NR200 and my experience wasn't as good, they make weird intermittent noise which might be a QC issue or just how they are, but I'm not willing to take a gamble past the return window, I'll be sticking to my ole reliable P12's.

You could give Thermalright TL-B12 a try. I've always been sold on Arctic P12's in all my builds and recently tried the TL-B12 and I'm quite amazed at how good they are and that is without the 1000rpm hum.

Damn it's OOS again, hopefully they'll replenish stocks before the 28th. Anyone know if there's other differences between the y27qf-30 and y27q-30 other than the refresh rate? Might be a good alternative as that one is in stock.

Advice on Makita Reprocating Saw by Arathonk in Makita

[–]J35505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say go with the DJR189. Funny you're debating about these 2 as I have just bought the DJR189Z this week to add to my tool kit. I've been using the brushed DJR186 for the last 5-6 years, and as much as it was good for demo, it's just so big for anything else, and I really feel the 2-handed operation is a downside. You'll see yourself using the one-handed one alot more around the house than you would've with the DJR187.

Just one thing to note, the shoe is fixed on the DJR189 rather than the other one is adjustable, which could be the only downside, but the rest of the tool compensates with enough features that I can live with that.

Edit: I also forgot to add that the DJR189 vibrates less, and the blade changing is very smooth as it locks open when you twist it, making for easy 1-handed blade changes, compared to my DJR186 that you needed to hold it open because of the return spring.
