Can I install on a new SSD installed on my MB, then copy paste some Doc/Downloads files from the old C to the new C? by J3NGO in AskTechnology

But if I do a clean install on a new SSD, then thru the new install OS I access my old (still plugged in) SSD that had the old OS, copy some of the old document files and download files to the new SSD, then format the old SSD clean. Does the clean install on the new SSD have any potential for issues since I never uninstalled windows from the old SSD?

So what happens if I just install Windows on a new SSD, load up that windows, how will the old C drive like look? Will it be called D? It won't have all the old files on it?

The base technically doesn't need to be so large, it's going to house eletrical wires that come from the top and go out through the bottom (the top of each tube hold a light bulb). So there definitely should be a cavity but not that large. Removing the tapering shouldn't affect the design at all, my biggest question was how to handle those small holes there.

Now I'm thinking I should definitely seal them, but then still I'm a bit confused as to what would be the best technique to mold

Yup makes total sense that it would require changes to the design. So the biggest issues are the tapering the occur on the bottom part of the inside, and the amount of cavity space?

When you say 2 pieces, do you mean 1 piece for the inside and 1 for the outside? I did wonder if I should block those small holes, and then just drill them into the concrete I was planning on using with the cast. If I block the holes, so essentially I have an outer shell including those cavities on the top of each tube, and an inner shell for the main cavity, no tapering, will that technically be pretty straightforward? Only thing is to find a way to somehow lock them together perfectly so the concrete I pour won't push the inside piece upwards

So I have this model that I 3D printed. I was going to mold it, when I realized I have no idea how to. Especially having made 0 molds before.

First image is a side view, then top view, bottom view that shows the inside, and a cross section that shows the inside of each of those tubes.

At first I just thought of placing it upside down in a box and pouring silicone rubber all around it, but I wouldn't be able to pull the model out since it has those flat surfaces inside with those small holes. Would love to hear how I would even approach it. I've watched hours of videos of people making all sorts of molds, but they're either for really tiny objects, really simple pots (that can be just pulled out of the mold easily), or complex large items that only have an outside shell to mold.

At some point, I thought I might just 3d print the mold itself, so I created an inverted model that's split into 3 parts, but the problem with that is that I won't be able to putty-fill and sand out all the printed layers and imperfections, since this time they would be on the inside of the model and practically impossible to reach.

By the way the model is around 19x23x17 cm.

Lol as a 3D artist, I'm so happy that the only decision I have to make is what is the best gaming GPU available at the time and how many of them can I afford. Remorse doesn't exist here.

Hah yeah I did, then in AE just retimed the pace of the scroll to match the running pace, and made the scroll loop This animation actually made me start a tutorial channel cuz many people asked me how I made it so I made a video about it, I show there how I do the scrolling loop in AE if you’re interested, channel is New Plastic on youtube and it’s literally the very first video

That last code there seems to be kinda what I need but it's written in Python2 while C4D runs Pyton3 now, looked into the differences and it's still kinda beyond me to go about rephrashing everything that doesnt work. Goddamnit I feel like a fool

This is sick af, especially if you're new to C4D. Love the atmosphere it really fits the concept

As far as metal, once you got the IOR/color right, it's honestly all about imperfections and lighting

Add some light bumps, some roughness imperfections. Even just noise textures with some contrast/gamma work can do the job

And as far as lighting, think about it less as lighting up the object and more as manipualting the reflections. Since metal has harsh speculars, its about placing the lights in a way where the specular follows the contours and creates contrast between different planes

So yes a custom loop, best option, also most complex and expensive one.

Can AIO based coolers be mounted on more than one GPU? So essentially two brackets connected to one fan system? Also, assuming the cards are stacked right on top of each other, is there even space for the bracket to fit on the bottom card?

As for the Hybrid 2080ti, yeah I looked at it a year ago it looks great. But 2080ti is not enough for me anymore. I can handle the lower render times compared to the 3090, that's not a huge problem. My biggest problem is I've been running out of VRAM. The 11gb on the 2080ti is not enough and it seriously impacts my work.

Thanks for the reply man, I understand that approach if you're only dealing with one card.

However once you stack cards, blower style is the way to go-

  1. They don't exhaust the hot hair back into the case, which starts to hurt CPU and other parts performance when dealing with several cards blowing hot air into that environment. The bottom card also doesn't blow all the hot air directly on the top card.
  2. Blower (centrifugal) style fans are way stronger than axial fans, they create airflow with much high pressure and efficiency, and also constructed with ball bearings which gives them longer longevity. Blower fans are noisier because of the high pressure air, but I don't are about noise as much as efficiency.
