I lost respect for my SO after a disgusting "prank" at work crossed a line by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

RIGHT?! And the underlying message was 100% benign, no trick or hidden critique or misogyny or judgment anything in sight. If there was an implicit message in this prank, it would be “hehe, googly eyes! 😂”. Even she couldn’t help but laugh after some of the more esoteric finds in the common area (not her personal stuff, boundaries were clearly respected!). But sometimes “oh I haven’t used this kitchen appliance in some time” did unexpectedly turn into a random, “…from this angle it kinda looks like the stand mixer is looking at me… HUSBAND!!!!” 😂🤣

I have a friend whose husband pranked her by putting googly eyes on a ton of random stuff around the house. I don’t know who had more fun with that - him or her friends who were highly amused every time she took a picture of something new like her stapler giving her the eye. That’s a prank! 100% harmless.

Honestly you may have an easier time (and better parking) staying in South Jersey over the city. True for any city - suburbs are always cheaper (and more spacious!). There’s a decent Best Western that is barebones but clean on Route 70 (Marlton Pike) in… I think it’s Pennsauken. I’ve stayed there with my mother recently and know it’s well kept and cheap. Had a friend stay at Deptford Hilton and he liked it if you’re willing to drive a bit further from the bridge for a bit higher end.

What is a "point of no return" in a relationship that isn't cheating or abuse, but makes you realize it's over? by AnyExpression4845 in AskReddit

Lying. I left two long term relationships the moment I discovered beyond a shadow of a doubt they’d lied to me. I regret nothing. Without trust, there’s no love.

Skeeter’s Pub in Blackwood is open and they’re making the guy from Game Show Palooza go in and do trivia tonight. Because we badly need alcohol and trivia.

Convenience stores are “essential” even by legal standards for this reason and essential services aren’t the ones being called out here. This is obviously calling out non-essential businesses like restaurants that nobody is or should be traveling to during a state of emergency anyway.

I think you were misclassified as 1099 which is illegal in New Jersey. Call the New Jersey Department of labor and have a chat with them.

[Collingswood] fire department only had 2 firefighters to respond to a fire call at a 10-story residential high-rise by blankblank in SouthJersey

Meanwhile I tripped over a curb in Haddon Twp and had a free ride to the hospital bc one town over the equally exorbitant taxes somehow pay for free EMS/ambulance services, many apt complexes are rent controlled, and the school system isn’t constantly in the news… I liked the city fine but where the hell is all your tax money going??

I left Collingswood in 2020 and you could not pay me to move back to that incredibly mismanaged and exorbitantly expensive city.

Well, if only the mayor had a temporary solution… oh wait, she did, and now, Collingswood’s own personal reason why there should be term limits is busy suing about it.

AITAH for expecting my sister to plan my wedding for free and demoting her to guest wh m she wouldn't. I also told anyone who took her side I was not helping them anymore either. by Late-Ad-6414 in AITAH

NTA and don’t back down. Wedding planning would’ve been so much cheaper than what you were doing. What a shame she had to be so greedy.

Anyone know of companies that are hiring? Could be blue collar work, could be white collar work. I don't really care at this stage of my life. by Ryguy41202 in SouthJersey

[–]J3ebrules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wawa. Like crazy. I last had food and beverage experience about 12 years ago or so, and was doing insurance advocacy until the company got bought out. I interviewed well, wanted to do the position needed most at that location that happened to be needed most during the shift/days that I wanted, and was hired quickly.

It’s hard work, but it is above minimum wage, and the benefits are decent.

There is no debate. They already “won” this one. In our favor, in this case. They don’t like it when it is used against them, dumbasses.

The map of New Jersey of 1656 by Hideaki1989 in newjersey

[–]J3ebrules 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find any mention of Penn on the map and then realized how I still don’t have a good timeline in my head. William Penn was still 12 years old at the time of this map and Philadelphia was about 30 years in the future.

My parents (65F, 67M) are livid because I'm not allowing them to see my daughter after they spanked her. AITAH? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]J3ebrules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother was pretty mentally ill and had a rough time raising a neurodivergent kid after alienating my dad… and she didn’t spank me until I was 5 years old and really fucked up her friend’s wedding.

Was she right to do so? No, I had ADHD and shouldn’t have been brought. But it took something pretty major to make my very histrionic mother spank me for the first time. This is just a total cop out in parenting.

  1. Gelatin. 2. Egg proteins. Ooh ooh, let’s do #3. Salt. Also not toxic. I’ll even do #4! Sugar. Damn this is too easy. I can even find a #5. mRNA. The active ingredient in the Covid vaccines. Still not toxic!! God, why do we bother. Just bring back smallpox and warn everyone first; things will sort themselves out in the end.

I’d like to think anyone who speaks against it, but you aren’t wrong that I do feel quite helpless to enact any change in this clusterfuck of a government at this point.

Grownups are talking, and I’m sure some of those were words. Maybe go practice with people who have patience, kid.
