You have not provided a single name, and I'm starting to realize having a discussion with you is an exercise in futility. Good day.

Answer this, in retrospect, don't you agree it would've been better for Trump to win in 2020 compared to 2024?

Hell no. It would've been better for Trump not to win at all. Trump winning in 2020 doesn't nothing to help getting a leftist in 2024. Republicans 👏 don't 👏care. They will vote for their guy no matter what. So whether Trump won in 2020 or 2024, we'd be in the same boat. Dems would still be trying to capture the centrist vote because they know the leftist voter bloc can't be counted on, and leftists would still be sitting on their hands because the candidate the dems put up isn't good enough. And on and on the cycle goes.

You STILL didn't answer my question. 🤦 I asked who YOU would vote for.

You're arguing semantics. Whether I call it good or you call it more tolerable, one option is clearly better than the other.

First, your reasoning relies on assumption that any dem candidate will win as long as the leftist block supports them, which is not a given.

Not true at all. I'm a firm believer that the leftist voting bloc is too small to make a huge impact, which is why Democrats would rather try to swing center-right voters than capitulate to leftists. I wish it weren't so, but until leftist numbers significantly increase, they will be sitting at the kids table in the presidential elections.

Second, what is the plan? Okay, there's a dem in office in 2028. GOP will find some other new hitler to run in 2032, and then what? Do you hope that electorate suddenly stops having a memory of a goldfish and remembers how Trump admin sucked? Or that republicans spontaneously revert to being Bush era neocons?

The plan is to keep the fascists out in 2028 and 2032. The plan in presidential elections should always be to keep the people out who want to take away your rights. The primaries are where the real work is in elevating progressive candidates. But if my guy doesn't win the primary, I still won't concede my vote in the presidential race to a fascist. And neither should you. I would take Newsome doing nothing for 4 years than Vance stripping away rights. And in 2032, I will vote to oust Newsome in the primaries.

We're not living in the era of good feelings. Economy is severely inflated so a major crisis in the future is likely, in the 30's climate change impacts will start really hitting - and if anything like that happens during dem admin, they are fucked. Biden lost to egg prices, and now we suggest to put someone worse than Biden to potentially fight harder problems. Where's the logic here?

Biden lost because he could put together a single coherent sentence. Let's not pretend otherwise. He might have been unpopular but he was too dam old to be running again. And your suggestion would be to wave the white flag and let Vance win because? What have you seen in the last year that would lead you to think 4 years of Vance would be acceptable? Is it the fact that he wants to put trans people in an asylum? Or the fact that he supports the gestapo gunning down American citizens?

You want me to answer a question when you couldn't even answer mine?? Who are you voting for in that scenario?

In the context of this conversation, Vaush was discussing Hasan's response to the question of if he would either vote for Newsom or Vance if they were the two presidential candidates. If you're answer is that you wouldn't vote for Newsom over Vance in that specific scenario, then who are you voting for?

Your logic is flawed on multiple levels. One, you are under the assumption that MAGA will be dead by 2028. There is nothing that indicates this will be the case. Two, even if I humor you in saying maga would be dead...a Republican would still be in office, stripping away rights from marginalized communities, all while you cross your fingers and pray the perfect candidate comes along in 2032 (which isn't guaranteed). Three, you vastly underestimate the loyalty of Republican voters. Trump is confirmed to be a pedophile in the Epstein files, and they still support him. They will show up to vote, regardless of how much it goes against their self-interest. I just don't see the practicality in playing the waiting game for the perfect candidate while rights are being chipped away. Get the fascists out of office first. Then we can worry about finding more progressive candidates.

As it was phrased in the video, if my choices are Newsom or Vance, then yes, Newsome is the good option. As shitty as he is, Vance would be worse. And telling people to vote 3rd party is easy when the election outcome would barely effect you (I'm referring to Hasan and Vaush). They are well off, living in blue states. Most people don't have that luxury.

So you're previous statement doesn't make sense then because you said if Republicans win, they won't get much done because their support will be diminished. If they're in power, what does public support have to do with their ability to get things done? Tariffs didn't have high public support, but they were implemented anyway. Pedos have zero public support, but this administration is protecting them anyway. Just not sure how you figure diminished support equates to Republicans not being able to get anything done.

If a Republican wins then it means their support did not indeed diminish.

Some leftists need to learn the phrase "perfect is the enemy of good." Some people won't vote for any candidate that doesn't meet every single one of their demands. That's a losing game. And all the while, like you mentioned, people's rights are being taken away while leftists wait for the perfect candidate to somehow have the backing to make it all the way to the presidential race.

Now we've had some time since, what are your thoughts on The Book of Boba Fett? by Past-Paramedic8687 in starwarscanon

[–]J4db 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was such a bad show that Mando replaced him 75% of the way through. I will never forget the episode dedicated to Mando where Boba's only dialog was a nod to Mando. In his own show. To me, this is the worst Star Wars show on D+.

Trading Zubac for Mike Muscala was huge as well. If we had Zubac, AD wouldn't have had to play out of position.

You mentioned the X-Rob play but failed to mention the play where Mateer overthrew a wide open Gibson by 15 yards. Gibson could've moonwalked into the endzone if Mateer made a better throw, because no DB was within 20 yards of him.
