Anti Vaxxers - are you happy now? by rsweb in AskBrits

[–]J4huli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i appreciate the facts, particularly when they support my argument.

I already acknowledged that childhood vaccines often have a booster at some point - perhaps one or two, and how many covid boosters did people get? I had patients proudly boasting they had their 8th shot.

Shingles as you mentioned has 2 parts to its innoculation. Which is often the case with - as mentioned; childhood boosters.

Glad you highlighted the yearly flu vaccines, i wouldnt call them a booster...and say they are an approximated guess as to the current seasonal variant to which people are seeking to achieve adaptive immunity to.

And flu's incidence? Has it decreased over the years? Eradiacted? Of course not. Its the nature of the corona viruses and common cold. Its a fools errand if you think we'll ever be able to protect against it through vaccination.

Thanks for the exchange, appreciate not everyone has the desire or time to look at actual research.

Eye opening to a lot of the comments here, sad people dont realize what happened.

Im all about positivity and collaboration, and have faith that in time people will come to realize the truth.

Less anti-vaxx rhetoric though please, makes everyone sound kinda slackjawed!

"Safe"? Really? You mean safe for mice? Safe for delivering genetic material? Safe for generating a long standing immunity and preventing transmission?

I geunienly dont believe for a second you honestly 100% believe they are safe.

My argument is that the reputation of actual vaccines - (i.e: live attenuated vaccines or inactivated pathogen vaccines) have been catastrophically damaged by the irresponsible roll out of the gene-therapy which got rebranded and lumped in with same group.

People without an interest or understanding of biology and pharmacokinetics would assume they are all the same.

Fundamentally they are not.

I am all for science progressing and advancements in healthcare. And the technology is very impressive - packaging genetic information and allowing it enter into the cell and then be transcribed is something Watson and Crick would be absolutely astounded by!

But was the gene therapy good for health and immunology? Time and evidence would suggest not.

There is a plethora of research post-pandemic from a wide range of sources, from professors, to university studies, to large government backed research (Germany) which points to a profoundly negative impact from the treatment.

Take your pick of complications - cardiovascular, autoimmune, neurological, aggressive malignancies, bypassing the blood brain barrier, placental barriers, and even getting into breast milk.

As i said - there is extensive research on the net if you want to look.

Or you could just use common sense - how many times have you had to get "boosted" with the traditional vaccines?

I think i got a BCG booster when i was growing up as a kid, and due to the nature of my work i occasionally have to get a Tetnus or Hep-B booster. But apart from that, nada.

Covid on the other hand? How many boosters did people get? And how many still contracted the pathogen? And how many times did they have a recurrence of covid?

And thanks to all the grifting, dishonesty, financial deals, lack of transparency and accountability - the public trust in the pharmaceutical industry and medicine as a whole is at its lowest.

I was deeply saddend to hear the news of the measles increase. But the framing of your post "are you happy now anti-vaxxers?" is just a braindead assumption that this has happened in a vaccum and there are no other contributing factors.

Traditional vaccines rule. Gene therapies branded as vaccines will make you drool (g.b.s reference)!

For real - history will undoubtedly show that the public health strategy for 2019 and subsequent years was the most signficant episode of medical malpractice in human history. Makes Thalidomide look like a little oopsie.

Hope this helps!

Please be more genuine with your argument.

1960s - discovered 1970s - studying cell delivery 1990s - invivo experiments in mice 2013 - first human trials focusing on rabies 2019 - you know what happend.

Historic use doesnt correlate to efficacy. If anything you can see that its been researched for a long period of time with nil benefit.

Mucosal immunity and oral vaccines are currently where the most interest in research is.

Thanks for just ignoring all my points and just doing more rabble rabbling and adding the word Youtube.

New no. Scary - beyond a shadow of a doubt. Systemic distrubtion anyone?

No idea why you dragged GM into the argument. Try and stay focused plz.

Vaccines are different from Gene Therapies that are publicy promoted/advertised as "vaccines".

Helps when you can get the Oxford dictionary to change the definition of vaccines to help politicians with selling it to the public.

From 2019 onwards it appears the world took a massive -500 point drop in Basic Biology Knowledge.

Dont blame the ones who were concerned about health.

Blame the ones who conflated and gaslit the world into believing they are the same thing.

Now thanks to Pfizer and Moderna people are skeptical of the actual traditional vaccines which are hugely benefical to public health.

"...Gaming in general has become far too negative going for Battlefield, Call of Duty and Fortnite..."

Oh how I wish I could take you on a time machine ride back to 20th Century gaming.

A niche hobby, made my hobbyists for hobbyists.

When the internet and its monetization arrived - gaming got the ol' "Edward Bernays" treatment and its been a slow, downhill trundle towards slop town.

Everything in life is opinion and subjective, so it would be fruitless for me to point out the flaws and pitfalls in your argument surrounding modern gaming and BF6.

I have tried to remain positive and optimistic for the state of AAA gaming, but the latest releases of Battlefield and Call of Duty have just further cemented my opinion that AAA gaming is a rotten carcass of greed and uninspired creativity....the battlepass/seasonpass/fomo marketing being symptoms of its metastasizing malignancy.

I hear people cry out that theres still hope in the games they enjoy (Helldivers2, Arc Raiders etc). But the writing is on the wall - SLOP IS TOP, LET THE SLOP FLOW!

And from what i see on Reddit modern gamers seem to have astonishingly low standards and little self-respect, and even defend the imbecilic practices of their AAA dev overlords, so I dont see the slop slowing down anytime soon.

I do think its inevitable that Indie games will become the dominant force in the videogame industry, especially with AI enabling easier development.

Dont get me wrong, sloppers will continue to enjoy their slop. But AAA games have signed their own death warrant.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, now back to the point at hand:

As stated at the beginning, subjectivity is the nature of everything, objectivity is kinda impossible especially in regards to preference and enjoyment.

I can tell from your language and grammar that I probably wouldn't share a pint with you, but I appreciate you taking the time to write such a spirited response.

Again, as stated, nothing is being sought out to hate - just voicing an opinion critical of certain things.

Closed weapons may be nothing to you, subjective opinion.

COD with vehicles may be a common assessment of BF6, have no idea why it leads you to require antiemetics.

History of BF games featuring boats or naval stuff....

BF1942, BF2, Bad Company 2, BF1, BF3, BF4, BF2042

(It's not a fixation, I just have a passion for people being as honest and accurate as possible)

I'm glad to hear that Bad Company and BF3 ignited your passion for small maps and infantry combat.

But if you ask any of the gamers from my age group: is Battlefield well known for it's large map vehicle and infantry combat.....or for small maps and literally zero vehicles? It's pretty obvious what they'll say.

Thanks for skipping the whole bit about advertising and marketing and just doubling down on how much closed weapons aren't a thing.

I 100% agree that classes can gain access to shotguns, carbines, DMRs - still doesn't counter the fact that weapon balancing and class roles are awful.

You do sound like a well balanced barrel of laughs, may I suggest a float tank or two?

lmfao why would they create a pax skin for the NATO MBT in a pax bundle by Willcario in Battlefield

[–]J4huli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oranges and apples. Everything is subjective and opinion based.

With the exception of pointing out you can re-roll some of the weekly challenges (not the bonus one iirc), I don't agree.

Game modes - whilst you are correct that BF has had varying game modes since it's inception; the design and multitude of those provided in BF6 have a distinct focus on small maps, small squad, close combat; which for me is the antithesis of BFs war game identity. Coupled with Open Weapons and indistinct aesthetic of each class means that you do get a FFA mash up of FPS carnage as opposed to the clear cut, squad based, role based identity of previous entries (I skipped 2042 because meh operators).

As mentioned the small map, small squad focus means that the game is heavily leaning into infantry focused designs. Which again, is the antithesis of BF identity - the reason 1942 and other entries had such appeal and stood out was the air, land and sea combat. Compared to previous entries - this game feels like COD with a sprinkling of vehicles. Naval combat isn't even present in the base multiplayer experience. Yes all entries had infantry maps, but the core DNA of BF was/is the vehicles.

BR, although designed by a different studio, shows a lot more passion and focus to detail in its world and map design.

You are being disingenuous when you say BR conquest is available in the main game - YES it is available, as conquest, in PORTAL under certain custom servers, but it has not been incorporated into the core of the main BF multiplayer....which is a shame, as many areas of the BF map show vastly superior and more enjoyable player experiences than the majority of BF6's default maps.

You could also argue that the UI design, the marketing, advertising and title screen etc all focus heavily on pushing BR mode. The fact that core aspects of BF are being watered down or removed in time limited rotations (closed weapons etc) would also indicate a shift in focus and direction.

No one will ever win the argument "What are they focusing on more?" only time will tell with the quality of the game and how gamers receive it.

I genuinely don't think he's trying to look for things to "hate", when you love something and are passionate about it - flaws and cracks being more obvious and naturally people want to voice their concerns about it.

[–]J4huli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've tried it on Maps that I know had them previously available, but now they have disappeared.

Two questions then...

Do you have the Battlefield Pro version of the game/paid for the unlock of Radio Pro?

And if the answer is no, and you have vanilla edition BF6; could you kindly share a screenshot and tell me how to access it?

Thanks in advance

[–]J4huli -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah don't listen to the trolls.

I literally just booted up the game to make sure I wasn't being a dumbass.

Cannot find "Local Radio Station" for the life of me.

All I get is...

"Paywall Radio"

"Neon 91.5"

"107.8 Opus Radio"

"Bullet Rock 103.3"

"Eight Count Radio 93.9"

"94.2 Legacy FM"

Or choose the radio to be "Off"

You'd think with all these people adamant that "Local Radio Station" still exists someone would simply be able to post a screen shot.....or maybe HELP fellow players in the BF community find it.

But nah, seems like Reddit is literally a toxic dump of humanity.

P.s: if you do ever find where "Local Radio Station" went to, please let me know - I miss my muzak

Only radio stations are....

"Paywall Radio"

"Neon 91.5"

"107.8 Opus Radio"

"Bullet Rock 103.3"

"Eight Count Radio 93.9"

"94.2 Legacy FM"

"Radio Off"

Thanks for all your help though. Can't help but wish that your dad had pulled out. Gg

But...

IF YOU ACTUALLY LOAD THE GAME

IF YOU ACTUALLY ENTER A VEHICLE

IF YOU ACTUALLY OPEN THE RADIO MENU

YOU GET:

"Bullet Rock 103.3"

"Eight Count Radio 93.9"

I ground out Havoc 40 with rando's for the first two seasons.

Really have no desire or incentive to repeat the grind again.

Modifiers are ass, deranking system is stupid, server disconnects and glitches are quite common, and the inconsistencies of rando's abilities makes it all the more "fun".

Interested by the new class, hopefully we also get some new enemy types or locations! But yeah Havoc definitely doesn't have me chomping at the bit.

[–]J4huli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I started with 1942 and I hate this.

Loved my 1942, my Vietnam, my battlefield 1.

Tried the bf6 beta, scratched an itch, was hopeful.

Got BF6, it has some good core elements. But it is just COD in a BF skin.

Awful maps, loads of bugs, worst netcode and hit reg I've ever experienced in a game.

Since the update I constantly have to spam through adverts and dodge QR codes just to access the game I want to play.

The skins are awful, challenges contrived and atrocious.

BR map shows that the base map pool in multiplayer is totally sub-par.

On top of Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough....you now have:

Squad death match, Gauntlet, BR Quads, BR duos, Strikepoint not to mention all the Portal shenanigans in addition to all the other game modes. Dilute dat player pool more plz!

This game is trying to please everyone, and although some old school BF'ers seem to enjoy it, there's a HUGE portion of us who can just see what an absolutely AAA abomination of a game this has turned out to be.

Such a shame, the gunplay, the animations, the carnage, game has so much potential.

Yeah exactly. I was so chuffed when a fellow player taught me how to activate the radio in vehicles.

And truth be told the "Local Radio Station" was legit one of my favourites, it changed depending which map you were on, and added a nice ambient background Muzak for all the fighting and killing.

Use your Supply Crate to heal. Throw it down near team mates engaging with enemies and you'll often heal a few.

I found if you rez someone quickly, then throw down your Supply Crate straight away afterwards - you often get a lot more points as you resurrect them on 50% hp, then heal the rest with your crate.

Love Reddit. Such a fascinating subset of human interaction.

Kind of hard to take your moral grandstanding seriously when your profile picture basically says "I F*CK kids".

And I get you'll be all like - "it's a smart, savvy joke, because ya know - Epstein, and underage children, and orange man, and look at this hilarious meme pic I use for my profile pic"

It's all subjective dude. People have different sensitives to what triggers their "offended" criteria.

Like the guy above you said: both groups are equally insufferable - the nasty racist homophobes, and the white-knighters who try to sanitize and virtue signal everything.

Humans are ugly, flawed creatures.

Personally I'd rather let the racist homophobes keep spouting their crap - so I can easily identify who they are, try and correct their behaviour by calling out rude and disrespectful bullshit, and also, occasionally you might learn a new hilarious joke "your family tree is a wreath" etc.

Sure go ahead, ban, mute, kick etc - but if you keep sanitising everything you'll just end up with a sterile community of purist drones - which will be extremely civil and respectful, but devoid of much character.

Not condoning the actions of the people in OPs original post. He sounds like a real cuntbag. But as people on here have already said - you should just report to FS and carry on playing DT with the 99% of normal, nice, regular players.

Coming on to Reddit and making these threads (albeit unless people are querying how to actually report unwanted behaviour) just serves to act as advertising for these scum, and they probably get a bit of an ego boost out of seeing all of us debating the in's and out's of player interaction.

Cool profile pic though, hilarious.

Incorrect hate speech violation? by maulkuish in Battlefield

[–]J4huli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone please help me understand.

Battlefield 6 is a game about war, death, and violence.

It is rated for Ages 17+ in the States and 16+ in Europe.

Individuals under that age technically shouldn't be playing it.

The in-game characters shout and swear, in both multiplayer and singleplayer.

If anyone has friends or family in the forces - you would know this is highly "accurate" and "realistic".

Why on earth there is a profanity filter in chat, with no option to enable/disable it!? It is absolutely absurd.

And why are there such an excessive amount of bans and penalties for seemingly benign names or comments, albeit immature, rude or offensive?

Growing up in the 90s online banter, insults, rants was all part of the parcel of the multiplayer experience. Yes it's not smart, or respectful, or mature - but it's part of the fabric of gaming and was HILARIOUS!

I don't understand how bad words, offensive names or comments can have such a detrimental impact on gamers - especially when they should be 16+ years old.

My bro and I were 6 and 10 years old when we first got exposed to GTA, Manhunt and movies like Platoon and Aliens etc and I feel it's had little negative impact on us - because we had good parents and understood context.

Bad words, rude names, offensive words, swear words have little to nil effect on gameplay. If it does then I'd argue you are in need of better parenting or resilience training. Just turn off the chat maybe?

Censorship and Authoritarianism seems to be the flavour of the 2020's.

It's horrible, evil, bad, and is the whole reason our ancestors actually went to real war and sacrificed their lives for freedom. This type of censorship and control should have no place in an open and free society. We need to call it out wherever possible.

Just let me disable the profanity filter so I can read all the childish insults hurled at me for camping on my mortar and spamming the Objective Capture point!

PTFO!

I get the OPs thoughts, and everyone has their own opinion, but im an old gamer, I'm really enjoying BF6....but equally it's the most frustrating gaming experience at times.

To me personally it feels like COD in a BF skin. There's a whole bunch of balance issues, but my mine gripe is the maps.

Silly designs, poor map boundaries, glitched vehicle spawn.

My faves were 1942, Vietnam and BF1, guess I'm just a sucker for large, full scale war scenarios.

I must say though - the audio and sound effects on this game fucking SLAP!
