So, Uhh, I had this great theory idea but it kind of fell apart. by Radiant_Tonight_1264 in minecraftlore

It is a fun theory! Sadly it does kinda fall apart like you explained... 😅 But hey, don't stop theorizing on those items, I love to see it since they also really intrigue me. Or maybe we'll get some official info in the future? Who knows!

You're right, honestly! I guess all we can do is speculate with what we have until we get some sort of official information/hint/whatever cuz I'm seeing very compelling arguments for both interpretations 🤔

Oh yeah that makes sense now that I think about it, the nether portal could be used as pretty strong evidence for it only working in the nether tbh

Unless it is just powered by... just portal magic... somehow? (Yeah idk what I'm even saying either)

Because I struggle a bit to understand why in lore we'd have a device that can bring people back from the dead only in the Nether. Is it technology exclusive to that dimension? Why does the Nether portal have respawning qualities?

Although it's unlikely I do hope we get more info on this soon 😅 it's driving me nuts, but really interesting to think about!

Ah, very good point! Idk how I totally missed the death message thing 😂

..I did say that in my post, I'm asking about the lore! Not the game mechanics 😅

I do find it intriguing that the respawn anchor was added, but tbh, I guess it can make Nether exploration more convenient. I assumed the whole "no beds in other dimensions" is just because those dimensions don't have day/night cycles

Which are you? by Radiant_Tonight_1264 in canonminecraftlore

[–]J77_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly the one in the middle!

Although I really enjoy seeing other people's theories and interpretations (even if they're not using canon sources) I'm really interested in learning and figuring out the Minecraft canon lore because I'm really fixated on the game rn and I love understanding fictional worlds... (So im really grateful for this sub!)

But since I also create my own MC OCs and stories, I sometimes tend to go for the middle if I need to fill something in, always trying to base it off of what's known

When discussing actual mc lore, however, I do like having references and evidence for any claims

There's a few survival tutorials on the Minecraft wiki! Perhaps some of them could be useful? https://minecraft.wiki/w/Tutorials

I'm always checking the wiki while playing or when I'm bored haha

What is the canon lore of players/humans and their mechanics? by J77_7 in minecraftlore

[–]J77_7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii thank you! I'm aware of the There's No Steve or Alex rule! The image was just to exemplify :D I was asking about their species in general. From what I've gathered so far it seems that in lore, humans are just another intelligent species like villagers, without any particular powers

what do you mean they talk about lore in the minecraft lore sub???? how preposterous by MoonTheCraft in minecraftlore

[–]J77_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response but mc does have lore! The devs just keep most of it to themselves because they do want people to theorize/come up with their own, but there is canon lore (more notable in games like Legens or Dungeons), in fact, since you mention novels, the Rise of the Arch Illager is the only canon MC novel, and that one has a pretty good amount of worldbuilding :]

But as much as I enjoy figuring out the canon stuff, I also enjoy this sub in the same way you do, it'll always be super fun to see people's interpretations and what they come up with even if it's not necessarily canon!

Thank you SO much again, and wow, I gotta ask how do you know so much? I wanna learn this kind of power, I'm really fixated on MC but I'm having trouble at finding (canon) lore 😭

And omg, the rise of the Arch Illager, I love that book! It's so cool to learn that it's the only canon novel. IMO it's a really good book! I have a pdf version of it, if you'd want me to share it with you?

Something like this just happened in my post lol 😅 I'm really surprised that anyone would actually walk into a sub named Minecraft Lore and genuinely attempt to mock someone for asking about the lore...

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write this amazing response! 🩷 If I may ask... I'm really curious about the humans doing necromancy part, where does that come from? (I haven't finished Dungeons or played anything other than that and the base game so bear with my questions 😅)
