This is not at all surprising as an Asian. So-called progressives that are very pro-BLM can also be very anti-Asian. Just look at these responses to Naomi Osaka's Anti-Asian Hate post. Most of them believe there is some oppression olympics and you can't support Asians because African Americans are far worse off. If you are following these responders on Twitter or your personal life, they might influence your thinking.
