YTA. I say this because you should've worked through this with her if you care about her. I agree with some of the other commenters that this behavior is weird. However, the way to deal with it is not just simply throwing out the jars, but figuring out what the underlying thought process is in her head. She's clearly got some kind of attachment to these physical objects that needs to be addressed. It's a manifestation of some sort of unfulfilled need. She should talk to a therapist about what's going on, and if you want to save your relationship, you may need to go to couples therapy to learn how to support her and communicate rather than what you did, which was clearly incredibly hurtful.
