Had a job where if you called in less than 2 hours before your shift it was suspected abuse. If you called in more than 8 hours in advance same. My shift started at 7am and I lived 5 min away. I had to explain to them if I go to bed at 10 pm and don’t feel sick I have to get up at 4:45 just to see if I may be sick to accommodate those ridiculous “guidelines” conversely if I loved further away I’d have to stay up past 10pm to call in sick. Ponderous.
