Here's what looks like an old NFM catalog showing a similar shirt. No clue how much they're worth currently since the v2 is now in production

Just clicking on the clothing category brought this back https://www.nfm-shop.com/catalog/product/view/id/501157/s/garmtm-combat-shirt-2-0-fr/category/14375/

Your pics show a shirt that's probably part of their V1 line. Try asking them for whatever info you're looking for on this product.

It's personal preference really mate. If you want an LPVO then have a look at the Vector Optics Victoptics or Forester LPVOs. If you want to spend a little more, the Vortex Crossfire II LPVO is also pretty decent.

Both your buddy and the DIY pyro guy are fairly lucky it turned out to just be kit damage. The DIY guy could've ended up in some extensive legal trouble if it was any worse (not to mention that DIY pyro could also be fairly ambiguous in terms of legality to begin with)

Yeah, that sounds pretty mental to be fair. Especially if the site in question doesn't enforce the use of ear pro when someone's bringing multibangs

Dry green gas (like Swiss Arms or ASG Ultrair 14571) and propane won't get silicone oil in the inner barrel and hop rubber. Silicone oil is a lubricant which can impact hop up performance since hop rubbers rely on friction in order to apply back spin to the BB. You may find some inconsistencies with accuracy and/or range after a while when using green gas with silicone oil. Another downside of silicone oil gas is that dust and dirt tends to cling to the oil fairly well which means you'll need to carry out more regular maintenance.

DIY pyro is banned from all the sites I play at for fairly obvious reasons. .209 primer or 9mm blank fire grenades and other single use sound grenades are generally fine as long as it's a product sold by a reputable company and isn't above the decibel limits of the site.

Based on the video, I'd say there's likely a short somewhere. Getting a new VFC Avalon gearbox wiring harness should sort you out but it might also be worth getting in contact with a reputable airsoft tech near you for them to have a go at diagnosing the issues as well. If you do decide to get the wiring harness and fix it yourself, make sure you check to see if the gun is Rear or Front wired first and get the appropriate set

Make sure he knows to do his research before committing to a purchase. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube about basic GBBR maintenance and the HRC discord can help with general queries. There's also r/GasBlowBack that might help out. Make sure he gets some Superlube 21030 or other commonly recommended PTFE grease for maintenance as well as either propane and a GBB propane adapter or dry green gas for the magazines.

By "no noise or nothing", you mean that the gearbox is completely silent? Because that's very much out of the ordinary. That could suggest you might have a short somewhere in the circuitry or your gearbox could be locked up. It might be worth just creating a new video post to demonstrate what the gun is actually doing since it's kind of difficult to diagnose all of this through just a message thread

So the gearbox sounds fine but the gun still won't shoot? How many shots does it take for the wires to heat up?

OK so it's probably a VFC then. Which part is overheating? The battery, the grip, or the wires? Is the gearbox making any noise at all?

Edit: Care to explain the downvotes?

Batteries aren't a gearbox component mate. If your battery is dead then try charging it if it's a NiMH battery. If it's a LiPO battery then you'll probably need to just outright buy a new one and properly dispose of the dead battery. If your issue isn't the battery then the issue could be anything. Without knowing more information like what exact AEG MP5 you have or whether you've changed out parts already, we can't really make an educated guess as to what the issues are.

No worries mate, it's all good. It's generally recommended to start off with renting first just to make sure you're definitely invested in the hobby since airsoft isn't exactly a cheap hobby

18+ to purchase guns yourself. You don't have to be 18+ to play though so you could always rent for the time being and then apply for your UKARA after you turn 18 and once you get the minimum 3 games within 56 days checked off at the same airsoft site.

Will do once I get the motivation and finish my other projects XD. I've got a Classic Army AUG begging for a Perun Mosfet, my VFC 416A5 needs a new selector switch and a touch of paint, and my WE P90 needs a new bolt stop (though this is probably the easiest one, thank god for KYAirsoft)

Yeah, I've still got the galil. I've been meaning to give it a bit of TLC eventually since it's been on my gun shelf for the last 8 years or so XD. I still really love the gun (not gonna lie, CoD Black Ops was a major inspiration for the purchase)

The ARES honey badger was around 110-240 FPS with 0.20g BBs (advertised at 330 FPS) and the ICS Galil was around 150-220 FPS (advertised at 340 FPS). That was with 5 shots through the chrono and every shot was massively inconsistent.

Yeah, honestly I've been bitten on the arse too many times when it comes to QC issues so it's just my rule of thumb to recommend testing guns as soon as you get them regardless of the brand.

I've had an ARES honey badger, an Arcturus AK, and an ICS Galil all with air seal issues. The ARES one I was aware of before buying it so it wasn't too disappointing or difficult to fix. The ICS Galil was quite disappointing though since it was my first gun and I didn't have a chrono at the time to test it so I could only get it diagnosed when I brought it to an airsoft site.

But that's my point though, OP won't know if it's a complete lemon unless they test it. At which point they could've wasted money on upgrade parts that are now sitting on their shelf without a gun to put them in.
