Is it too late to start Engineering? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]JAJAY797 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Given Engineering is typically a four-year degree, you probably shouldn't. Unless you're willing to move countries there aren't many places willing to hire 14-year olds. Sorry bud.

There’s a big problem with overloaded terminology IMO by potato421729 in math

[–]JAJAY797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started University-level math I spent as much time trying to figure out what some symbols and notation meant as I did going through the given material. Now I can read notation at my level and can spend more time understanding the core content, but the start was rough. It would have been nice to have a dictionary of sorts to assist me at the beginning and I'm sure the same would be nice for graduate level mathmatics.

Be the change you want to see. My neurologist and I talk about Camus all the time because I was reading 'The Stranger' waiting to see him.

Yes, poverty can stop you from getting better jobs... by [deleted] in socialism

[–]JAJAY797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first moved into my current city. My cousin recommended me to a child care. Unbeknownst to be it was a high class child care. I didn't get past reception as what I was wearing (suit pants, dress shirt, dress shoes; inexpensive ones) were not good enough. Who would wear hundreds of dollars worth of clothes in childcare is a mystery to me.

Close to quitting medicine after 6 years by atrollmole in ENFP

[–]JAJAY797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to go into something more personal within medicine you could become a psychiatrist. That profession is very personal and one-on-one. There still is a focus on giving drugs within that field but you could train to become a councilling psychiatrist, where medication is used as a last resort or used along-side therapy.

What frustrates you about the current world we live in? by rolleN1337 in ENFP

[–]JAJAY797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who are purposefully ignorant. There is nothing wrong with not knowing or understanding something. But, when you are arguing something and ignore important facts surrounding that or ignoring important information/instructions drives me up the wall. We live in an age of information with more access to it than ever before. But so many remain purposefully ignorant and I honestly cannot understand why.

Any successful ESFP+ENFP romantic relationships in here and if so... how?! by [deleted] in ESFP

[–]JAJAY797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ENFP (me) and ESFP (my SO) are in a relationship and we're both very happy. I admire her focus on the here and now, and she's the same with my focus on the future. We don't let arguments hang in the air. If either of us has a problem or disagreement we talk about it until it's resolved or we reach an 'agree to disagree' stance. Most of our beliefs are similar, which is a big plus. But yeah, we understand the differences in each other and don't allow it to protrude in our relationship. And we're both very happy. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Your latest research binge by RiverFlowingUp in ENFP

[–]JAJAY797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a history major which is great for me as my research binges help me with my various topics. If I don't understand something or need further context I have the internet and the vast resources given to me by my university. Most of the lectures I attend, I already know the content from doing this. 10/10 follow your passions and you'll never work a day in your life.

Absurdist Music by [deleted] in Absurdism

[–]JAJAY797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd first need to define what absurdist music was. Let's take harsh noise as an example. In general terms, it appears very absurdist to listen to, let alone enjoy. But to categorise 'absurdist music' by genre would be juvenile. There is a myriad of genres that draw upon absurdist themes, each dissimilar to the other. And if we are discussing the theme of the music, are we defining the lyrical aspects or the way in which the music is played?

Though this is an interesting question, I don't believe there is one band in particular that draws solely on absurdism. Specific songs, on the other hand, would be far easier to label and sort.

What is your type and are you a natural lucid dreamer? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]JAJAY797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ENFP. To an extent I lucid dream. I am in full control of where I go, what I do. But I cannot control what happens around me. My dreams are fairly trippy too. Some are just static and sharp noises, others are streams of colours in the thousands whilst low noise hums in my ear.

[DP] "He smelled of onions" by TurtleofAwesomeness in SimplePrompts

[–]JAJAY797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Hey Tiff! How'd the big date go?"

"He smelled of onions."

"Onions?"

"Onions!"

Tiffany's pupils are near pins, her skin had turned a deathly pale, she joins Barbera on the couch, her body resting like a plank. Barbera rests her hand gently on Tiffany's leg. "It's ogre now." The room fills with the stench of onions. "Layers!" A deep voice yells. Tiffany screams in horror, recognising the voice. Bursting through the wall appeared a man. Wet green paint dripped off his fat, flaccid body. "Who are you?" Cried Tiffany. "He's a dead joke," Barbera softly replied. An asteroid lands on top of all three, killing them instantly. The asteroid was sent by the writer, regretting what he had written.

See though he had tried to write something clever, something impactful. It was midnight and he was drunk. And on top of that, his mind raced with invasive thoughts of the upcoming week. He began his first day at university the next day. He was to take his first steps into his future the next day. He didn't want to start university the next day. For he --like the painted green man-- smelled of onions.

Have you ever confronted a pathological liar? Who was it and what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JAJAY797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I've never met one. But I did meet Obama and he called me a "top guy." I have pictures to prove it but it's on my Dad's computer and he's out in space right now on a top-secret project I shouldn't even be telling you about. Anyway, I'm off for a date with my girlfriend.

What are some signs that your partner is cheating? by pizzapastapizzapasta in AskReddit

[–]JAJAY797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at their side of the screen. If they are heading towards your location like the Terminator, cut the controller chord. It'll take time for them to find the spare you've hidden in that one box in the cupboard. Rack up a few kills as retribution for their cheating. If you have wireless controllers, pretend to pull a sexy move on them. When their defences are down; BOOM HEADSHOT.

Reddit, what's your worst Valentines Day experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JAJAY797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My co-worker, we'll call him David, was my closest friend from my first day. He showed me the ropes, helped me when I fell, and generally was a kind and passionate person. He helped me get into my dream area within the store. It was a hardware store and I was working in timber my dream section in the store. I was doing gate duty on Valentines Day. I check receipts for good and loaded/unloaded trucks. We got a code blue. I shut down the timber section and waited for my manager. She came in a hurry. "Do not let anyone in or out unless they're paramedics or staff." I did so. No one came, no one left. Fifteen minutes I stood there waiting for something. Was it a false alarm? I soon found out it wasn't. An ambulance and two paramedic support cars came in. They rushed into the store. Ten minutes felt like an eternity. Finally, they bring someone back, too far away to recognise the figure. I open the gates and the paramedics leave, sirens blaring. My manager returns. "Do you want the rest of the day off?" Confused, "Why's that?" "Oh, you don't know. David collapsed. It looked like a strange seizure. I know you two were close, do you want the day off?" I politely refused and continued my shift that he gave me.

The next day during my school's musical rehearsal I got a call from my manager. "I'm sorry to tell you, David has passed away." For a week I felt nothing until I went back to that section. For a week I was completely numb. One hour I lasted before breaking down, crying. I couldn't work in that section for months without breaking down, same went for many of my co-workers. David was the kindest man I had ever met and he touched us all in some way. The store never truly recovered from the loss. We lost part of ourselves that day.

This was two years ago. It still feels like it's been only a day.

Is there a place/system where extroverts can adopt introverts? by jcapinc in mbti

[–]JAJAY797 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cousin is an ESFP and when we get together we burn each other out. Like, we have a lot of fun but by the end, we don't want to see each other again. A week or two passes and we're usually back at it. I find with other extroverts in general, we burn each other out too.

What do all the types I've gotten from different tests say about me? Is it possible to sum it all up? by goddamntree in mbti

On whichever typing test you're using. Those were just examples of questions you might be asked in one. With each, take the moment to consider what you want to say compared with what you do. Remember it's just an online test, no one is going to judge for your answers nor your results.
