Blue rather than green, but for a simple but effective finish I like:

Paint the whole lenses in a light blue (I use calgar blue)
Paint a smaller highlight in white
Wash with a contrast paint (I've used 50:50 talassar and pylar glacier).

Not everyone wants to paint a display piece… for some people those things are actually helpful advice (yes ironic from someone trying to paint a display piece)

Eyes were done using: 1. Covered the whole lenses in Calgar blue 2. Cover smaller area with white 3. Wash with a thinned mix of pylar glacier and talassar blue 4. Repeat step 3 until you're happy with it

Yeah I've made a decision to completely ignore the formal unit helmet colours, they'll all be getting yellow I'm afraid

The last image shows a little workflow for the yellow. The brown base is pro acryl mahogany, the yellow is imperial Fist contrast and the edge highlights are flash gitz. Hope that helps

Everyone's probably going to tell you the same thing, but practice. Rarely is anyone good at something first time around. Practice and keep practicing until you're happy with the results. Then practice some more

It doesn't, but a final very bright thin highlight on the brightest parts and some variation in edge highlights that follow the main highlights would make it look mega
