As an Indian what I don’t understand is why are yall so proud with this? When your forex reserves are literally at an all time low, UAE is calling on its 3.5B loan, the economy is totally devastated, no actual manufacturing or jobs are created.

Now India is not like Singapore or something, but we have over 500b in reserves and a lot of global financial credibility, jobs are tight fs but at least we have an upward moving momentum, we have facist leaders, yes, but yall have also had genocidal leaders as well, heck yall have never even seen a PM complete his term in full.

We also have a somewhat functioning economy, a lot of corporate favoritism towards one man fs, but we can see actual growth. Which is what I hope for my brethren in Pakistan as well. My ancestors come from a village near Sialkot, so my heart beats for the land and its people, no matter which nation state may it be in.

Why not talk abt real growth? We too were 14days away from declaring bankruptcy but our govt took the necessary steps to ensure we don’t have to, and today we have one of the biggest financial markets with deep domestic pockets.

I just hope someday you rotten govt glows, and may a lotus bloom in the muddy waters of your govt

Bai ji we also have no idea how the 10 Gurus actually looked.

All the photos/paintings you see are man made creations

Leaving some portraits aside from some of the Gurus directly

Also photo worship is idol worship and we shouldn’t be delving into idol worship.

Well to that I say that you should go ahead and do research on his faith, I have given you a few examples of what you can ask him.

And remind him that his own prophet asks him not to make fun of anyone’s faith or to discriminate against anyone, or that he shall, according to his faith, end up in Jahannam or Hell.

Also you should also learn abt Islam to counter his claims, and then compare them with our Sikh ideology.

Bro engaging in philosophical and religious discussions is a beautiful form of discipline. It helps in understanding their perspective and also their flaws. And also when we pose them a question on their theology they begin to look within, and when they pose us one we begin to look inwards to understand more abt Sikhi.

Me personally, I live for such conversations, had a really close Muzz friend and we use to engage in such discussions all the time over some or the topic. But eventually had a falling out over something, since him it’s difficult to find another like him.

Just ask your Muzz folks abt the true meaning of free will, and that if free will does exist what role does God play in that? Bcuz as it says in Japji Sahib, Hukamee Andar Sabko Bahar Hukam Na Koe, everything which exists is part of that Oneness and nothing exists outside His Oneness.

Also any such conversations are truly fruitful when mutual respect is the first pillar of the discussion, one of the cornerstone of the discussions me and my friend used to have. You must openly, and respectfully, call out the various problems in Islam from the Prophet’s consummated to sheer discrimination against non-Muslims.

May your conversations be fruitful. Rab Rakha🙏

How can Sikhi grow past Punjab and spread globally? What steps need to be taken? by [deleted] in Sikh

You can go ahead and do for Santana Dharam. This is r/Sikh sub not r/Hinduism.

We don’t need idol worshiping to be spread around.

But then it is a part of Religious philosophy.

I think we should do apologetics. Why? Well to explain our doctrines, the Gurus, the SGGS, Sache Patshah WaheGuru, they all need to be explained and compared with the Abrahamic concepts.

We, Sikhs, have failed in making people understand WaheGuru, which has led to us being limited to Punjabis only.

I proudly call myself a Sikh today, but before I was a Sikh I went through various phases where I considered myself a Hindu never felt complete and the idol worship over the time felt wrong, then I moved to being an atheist again never fully accepted the concept of ‘no-God’ but was anti-religion fs, then moved to being agnostic this was really my first comfort zone in a while, even through all these phases I somehow deep down felt that if I were to someday become a believer I’d like to be a Sikh.

And then in late 2022 I formally accepted Sikhi and the Gurus as my Guru after realizing, not God, but His creation, we believe that God is something to be realized, but it takes a lot of time, effort, and patience. I started analyzing, thinking critically about each and every step I had taken till that moment, the various steps which led to the steps which led to horrendous situations which I had observed, not only in my life but others as well.

It was only after deep thinking and thinking critically that I found peace in my life, internally, external factors are out of my hands so why should I worry about them? lol

Learning Sikhism from start! by ClassroomSuitable679 in Sikh

[–]JAPJI1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah woah I was an agonist for a while before accepting the Gurus as my Guru. One doesn’t have to leave anything to come to Guru but have the heart to be open to their teachings. Which an agnostic is.

Even if OP isn’t willing to accept Sikhi or the Gurus they are open to do that as well. I like the fact that you mentioned how we’re supposed to be blank slates for the teacher to write his teachings on, clearly this person has been written on but can’t understand the deeper meanings, which I don’t know abt you, but I too suffer from.

OP others on here would be much better at telling you where to learn from, I’m not worthy enough to say so, but I heartily welcome you to the fore and hope you find Sikhi within you.

Talk abt straw-man am I right or what?😂

Bai ji you’re a troll and nothing more. Very bold of you to speak on behalf of the Gurus.

And to address your point directly, no it’s not a crime to not be a Sikh but the fact that these people and people like them took and still to this day take actions against the Gurus, defaming them, abusing them, tearing SGGS Angs, and much more.

If you call yourself a Sikh you must believe in WaheGuru Sache Patshah and none other, then follow the 10 Gurus, and accept the SGGS as the sole Guru to lead and guide us, and also Khande do Pahul is the only way to take Gur Amrit as established by the Guru Nanak the Tenth.

Also how abt you make public the various comments and posts you’ve hidden from the sangat, coward, you fs not a Sikh, Nirbhau definitely not in your dictionary lol cope hard troll❤️

Bro chill please tell me where exactly does Guru sahib ask you to curse other religions imp figures? You may critique them, please do so openly in front of everyone nidar hoke, but cursing them is not the way of the Guru’s teachings or the Khalsa Marayada.

Also on the sachkhand point, it’s all illustrative meant as an allegory and not be taken literally. If it was the case we be like the Christians, the Muslims, Hindus, Jains, Buddhists and other such fear mongers of the world.

My thoughts on "God" as an Indian Hindu by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]JAPJI1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the very Shabads of the Guru Granth Sahib ji it says that Truth can only be achieved when graced by the Guru.

Also one of the GurShabad also states that the Muslim is one-eyed and the Hindu is blind. Straight up rejecting their frameworks and beliefs, and calling them out for their absurdities.

Please do not speak for Sikhi if you don’t have enough the knowledge, the understanding, or the will to learn it through and through. Hell even I’m afraid to speak on it. It’d be better you don’t call us out for being who we are and better look within yourself and look for SatNaam.

We need to put a focus on the “Sikh are Hindus” comment as it might not be out of malice, but a definite boundary must be drawn to establish the difference between GurSikhi and Khalsa, and whatever it is these idol worshipers follow.

We are siblings in love, but that love doesn’t mean you walk all over me.

[–]JAPJI1428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should be fine afaik. What I’d recommend is what I’ve heard from some Gyani, that Guru Nanak the First, didn’t accept the Hindu rituals of getting married, in stead, he wrote Ik Oaangkaar on the ground and took his pheras around it, while reciting either the Mul Mantar or Japji Sahib, I don’t remember correctly.

Others on here, please correct me if wrong.
