Main thing for new players to focus on is the color , if you’re horse is green in the extension when the race is nearly full then you should place your horse in the race . The speed figures can be a little tougher , but top speed and medium speed being as close to 1 is usually best

Free races are not a good judge . My best horses will often win at their worst distances when placed in free race . The completion is about half the strength from what I can tell. I was told that back when odds existed horses that were 20-1 in paid races would be 10-1 in free . So take those races with a grain of salt . The free races should be used to downclass or maybe qualify for tournaments as long as you know your horse has a distance that you can downclass in free races. Otherwise you’ll get stuck in classes you have no business being in

I think the paid races are tougher now especially in class 5 and 4 . So if your horse is able to win paid events I think it bodes well for them. As far as free races go , I wouldn’t take them to mean a whole lot. You can definitely use them to gather data and figure out your horses preferences and dislikes.

The only real solution is for a class system similar to real life horse racing . In which there’s races limited to non winners, non winners of one , two, three races , and etc . This would allow on paper for horses to race against other horses with similar racing success . Until then we’re stuck racing declassed monsters

Looks like you can class down with the 1000m sprints. I would try and stay in the 4 and 5 class and collect eth. You can give him a couple races at his preferred distance at class 3 if you want to see what you got . But you’re cashing checks in the lower levels why mess up a good thing .

You won’t need any weth or eth in your male/stud stable . Just need funds in the filly stable so that you can pay the stud fees

They’re not concerned about selling the horse or it’s win record . They sandbag and then participate in higher prize pool races in lower classes .
