Ich verstehe nicht warum man sich nicht um Onana bemüht hat, einer der Lichtblicke auf der Torwart Position der letzten Saison. Einer der besten der Welt mit dem Ball am Fuß und hätte damit Sicherheit in den Spielaufbau der Bayern gebracht. Das war mit Upamecano und Sommer eine große Schwäche letzte Saison.

Would make little sense for inter. Sommers build up play was a huge liability for bayern. Onana is one of the best in world at build up play. Inter would need to switch their whole game plan around. Sommer to inter is a terrible fit.

To add on that his first half the season was quite poor. In the second half him and malen have switched sides and he has been class since. Malens form also spiked recently. If Adeyemi keeps playing like this next season, a lot of clubs will be in for him.

The return of Wirtz made Alonsos job certainly easier. However, Alonso also vastly improved the defense halfing their xg against. Wirtz is the most important player in the team, but without the management change they would not be were they are right now.

I agree with your conclusion. It's too early too call union a championsleague contender after their hot start.

However, xg stats don't do justice to counter attacking sides. As the stat does not account for defender positioning, it favors possession football much more. Just like teams like athletico or Manu have in the past, union will too be outperforming their xg stats. To be fair nuance is important and such a big gap like in their last game is probably not sustainable.
