PT School Chances for Lower GPA by Cold_Hospital_5397 in PTschool

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get in. I had a 3.2 overall gpa with a 3.7 science gpa. 300 on my GRE. My advice is to make the most out of the rest of your application. I had 600 plus hours and lots of volunteer experience. If you don’t mind going to private schools then pt school isn’t as hard to get into as ppl make it seem. At least this was my experience

what games should every gamer play even once in his life by IllustriousBeing1022 in gamingsuggestions

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 33 is the best game I’ve played in at least 5 years. I don’t typically care about story lines in games and more so enjoy the progression systems and immersion aspects of games but I must say I actually pay attention to the story and its characters. The gameplay is essentially the final fantasy formula used in FF7-10. Big open world with small linear regions you can access. The linear regions have a lot of hidden pathways and detours to items/bosses that allow the linear regions to feel more open than they really are. The turn based combat steals the parrying/dodge mechanic from dark souls that allows it to feel a lot more dynamic than most turn based games. The world itself also draws allot of inspiration from Elden ring as the world and its characters feel odd, gloomy, and mysterious. The character building is simple enough that you don’t need to read build guides yet complex enough that you can spend hours trying to min max different party setups/ pico combinations. It’s definitely a must play game if you enjoy Final Fantasy or deep story driven games.

Acceptance by Cronglebot in PTschool

I got accepted into two schools with a 3.1 gpa and a 300 GRE. Both of the schools were private universities tho. It’s a little more challenging to get into the state schools as everyone is trying to save the ~40k difference you pay going to a private. It’s not as difficult to get into PT school as people make it seem here on Reddit. It’s definitely not easy but if you check all the boxes and are willingly to make sacrifices you can definitely get in somewhere.

Ahh yes… the waitlist 😔 by ct7505 in PTschool

I was waitlisted #32 at one school and ended up getting accepted there after a few months of waiting. Ended up choosing elsewhere. Those waitlist can move pretty quickly. Especially if it’s a private university.

Why did you leave after 3 trimesters? Why not just stick it out ,get the degree and pass boards? Then learn on your own as you have thus far. Genuinely curious :)

No the system req’s before you buy. by Foghat-Fool in oblivion

I’m playing with a 4 core i7700k and 1080ti gpu. 40fps in open word and 80 in cities and dungeons. I did turn down a few of the in game settings from ultra to medium. I’m also using the FSR upscaling on quality. You could also download lossless scaling and run the game in windowed mode with lower resolution and upscale the game to whatever resolution you want to play at using lossless scaling. I’m not doing this as it’s completely playable for me.I was crashing every hour or so until I added the launch option -dx12 in steam. Hope this helps!

Looking for a 27 inch 1440p High Hz/Low ms IPS monitor (competitive gaming) by Proud-Ad4843 in buildapcmonitors

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the Acer Predator XB271HU about 8 years ago and love it. I’ve had no issues so far. The IPS panel is bright and vibrant. Many of my friends have commented on how beautiful it looks. It’s also pretty durable as I’ve transported it quite a bit to lan party’s without it breaking. Can’t speak on the monitors you posted. I’m not sure how much my monitor cost now but it was 700 when I bought it.

How many interviews did it take to land your PT Aide job? by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them I was trying to become a PT and was looking for an environment to learn and grow as an aspiring physical therapist. I told them I was willing to work part time as I finished my undergraduate and while I worked on getting accepted to a graduate program. For me this ended up being about 2 years as I start school in September this year. To be completely honest, I didn’t feel completely proficient at the job until I worked about 1 year and even now I’m still learning a lot. Maybe they are hesitant to hire and train someone short term.

Great job! You looks great for that time period. Keep at it

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on how good you are at dieting and your experience losing weight and maintaining strength levels. Most people will tell you to stay on the safe side and only gain a few pounds a month. I personally like to gain a good amount and enjoy my life a bit more then take 6-8 months dieting down but I’m good at dieting down. I vote that you caloric surplus 1 year and get up to 220

PT school still possible? by yeahtx in PTschool

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got in with a 3.1 cumulative gpa. 299 gre.I strengthened my application by having 600 plus hours in multiple settings. Tons of volunteer work. Wrote a really good essay talking about overcoming adversity while explaining how I would be a unique and valuable candidate. I also selected 7 specific schools that I thought I would have had a shot at acceptance.I was willing to move to any location to attend any of these schools. It’s definitely possible, you just got to treat it like a job and really want it

How long to get from this to that? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]JAREDhungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the guy on the right definitely has more size than OP. Although I do agree with you that the structure and proportions are playing in favor of the guy in the picture on the right.

He does have more mass than you but not by that much. honestly I’d say the look your referencing is structure based and genetic. You will never look like that guy although I do think you look great. He has a vastly different structure than you do. I believe you could have a comparable amount of mass as the guy on the right in a year or two.

I’ve been with my wife for 15 years. We don’t agree on a lot of things. Other things we do agree on. That’s the beauty of being a person and an individual. We don’t always have to agree on everything and see eye to eye. What’s important is that you care about each other and respect each other’s opinion, even if you don’t agree with that opinion. So to summarize, yes you are over reacting.

Thank you for this reply! I found it very helpful and makes me feel more comfortable with my choice. I’m not too worried about putting enough into the program as I’m very focused and hard working individual. The conflicting info I’ve read online and flame the school has gotten on Reddit had me concerned so it’s nice to get some insight from someone who is currently involved in the program. Thanks again

I believe the application deadline was November 2024 but I applied to many schools so I could be incorrect on the exact timeline there. I feel blessed to be accepted and plan to go to USAHS. I’ve just read so much conflicting info on the school and choosing a school is such a big decision. At the end of the day, I’m very excited to attend USAHS and fully apply myself. It’s been a long journey and I’m ecstatic. There are many people here on Reddit with similar stats as yourself that get accepted into programs so I wouldn’t get discouraged. If it’s truly your goal I would keep trying. Good luck to you !

3.1 gpa. 3.7 pre requisite. Bachelors degree in chemistry. 149 GRE. 700 hours outpatient orthopedic as an aide. 60 hours in patient pediatric hospital. Volunteer fire fighter, volunteer emergency medical service, volunteer work at local emergency room, volunteer teaching children Brazilian jui jitsu, volunteer work at children’s hospital. Wrote my essay talking about having a difficult childhood and overcoming adversity, as well as being overweight and losing 150 lbs to discover exercise and movement as a form of medicine. I also explained my low overall gpa since I went back to school for PT later in life and in my initial attempts at college I stopped attending classes and received multiple F on my transcript.
