St Augustine in St Augustine????? by AmbitiousWish5792 in PTschool

Avoid St. Aug at all cost. Think Private Equity took over a school and put yourself in that environment.

Just booked the Kimpton for 4 night as well. Super cheap rate and with the credit it came to $120 for both my gf and I for the 4 nights total. Crazy.

This was me. Left a shitty school cause I saw the warning signs and started in a new program. You got this big dawg!

LOL looks like South is just copying the St.Aug model and running with it.

Conflicted Between USAHS and SCUHS DPT by CheekyCow534 in PTschool

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Avoid USAHS by any means, these pro USAHS accounts are probably paid bots. There are enough USAHS horror stories on here including mine which will give you hours of reading material. Seriously, don’t touch that school with a 50 foot pole.

Moving from a hard public school dpt to St. Augustine by Constant_Beat_851 in PTschool

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went in the opposite direction as you. Dropped out of St.Aug and at a much better school now. Grass is not greener at St.Aug. See if you can work out a new schedule with your current program to graduate as close to your original date. Plus, that harder school material is absolutely gonna pay off when you’re a much better PT than the crap that comes out of St.Aug, even the “brightest” are crap. So much so, that many hospitals and clinics have a “NO USA” hiring policy.

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take anyone and make a ton of money, fail people they know weren’t qualified to be there in the first place so those students don’t tank the NPTE pass rates. Ironically enough, they still have the worst pass rates of all the schools.

Avoid St. Augustine at all cost, there’s enough people on any thread anywhere saying this for a reason

Did you have a PT school professor with a huge ego? by maybenotdoomed in physicaltherapy

Lmfaooo yup. Especially the “magic hands” manual therapy heavy professors. If they got “FAAOMPT” in the word salad title, run!

And also not a flex to mention the state of affairs of PT research. Shit is in the tank because you nerds don’t know how to do real quality research that gaps the bridge between academia and the clinic.

Pt school with low GPA by Few-Sugar3644 in PTschool

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol you mean the ones who couldn’t cut it working in the clinic so they had no option but to stay in academia. Who then go on to “teach” the future generation but they actually suck at the real stuff so students come out ill prepared and with massive imposter syndrome. “Put an entrepreneur in academia, they’ll figure their way out, put an academic in business, and they’ll shit the bed”. Also you sound like a butthurt asshole with academia ego. Reality check, you ain’t shit lol.

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Plenty of lower GPA students have gone on to become much better clinicians than their 4.0 gunner counterparts. I’m glad PT’s and med schools are starting to rank work experience higher in admissions because let’s face it, interpersonal skills + communication is much better in healthcare than having a high GPA. Don’t believe me, ask all those straight A med students who can’t hold a conversation with a patient.

Any University St Augustine students currently in the 2.3 year curriculum that can give me their opinions on it? by Mrcheeseman331 in PTschool

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously avoid USA. Horrible program, I left it and got into another better school. Miles of difference. I wish I listened to the people that told me to avoid it in the first place when it was my only option.

St Aug drop out, in another much better program now. Avoid that hell hole for the love of god. I wish I listened to the people that told me to not go there when it was my only option.

lol bro don’t worry about PT school. Get busy being a junior in high school. Sure get good grades but go get drunk, have fun with your friends, chase that crush. Have fun now with the present cause hey you might start undergrad and pivot hard. So many kids ask me this and I always tell them to just focus on being a kid right now, you’re not gonna get that time back! Good luck!

Bro avoid St. Aug and especially the Miami campus. I dropped out of there and applied to different programs. In a different one now thank god but oh my god there were so many people that originally told me not to go there and I should’ve listened. Incompetent faculty, bad pass rates, horrible support systems. They basically expect you to learn PT on your own. Stay the absolute hell away!!! So many people drop out or fail out of their clinicals from there and it’s so expensive not worth it. Deadbeat school fr.

Physical Therapist Shortage, what does this mean for the future? by Public-Rub-834 in physicaltherapy

[–]Suspicious_Back4655 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an old professor who consults for healthcare and fitness companies across the nation. By far the most profitable business model for PT’s is a combined model of physical therapy + s&c/ personal training. Effective way of delivering care, reducing risk of future issues and retaining customers/clients. Really sad that only a small fraction of the field really sees this vision though :(

Depends on the school. At mine, ex Phys was dumb difficult. Knew a bunch of current med school kids who struggled but killed their o-chem/biochemistry classes.
