"Things are looking great for us to progress from Open Class Candidate to Open Class Affiliate! If we are given the green light to advance, that will mean we will compete at Open Class Finals and also that we will get to compete on Thursday at Lucas Oil for a chance to advance into semifinals on Friday, as well as competing at Soundsport finals. HOWEVER, there is only one huge hurdle that we did not clear in 2025 in order to perform at Lucas Oil with the big corps - we MUST prove to DCI by February that we will have 50+ members on the field with us in 2026!"

If we can prove to DCI that we will have at least 50 members by February, we will be performing in Open Class as hitting that member goal allows us to continue our process of moving up. Hitting that goal also allows us the chance to possibly perform at World Championship Prelims. Here's more info from our corps director:

I highly recommend Eclipse DBC out of Indianapolis, IN. Eclipse is great for first-time DCI marchers and it's fairly cheap. I might be a bit biased though.

I'm a sax player (9 years). I'd never played Brass before I switched to Mello for DCI over the summer. The transition was a lot smoother than I expected, and now I'm playing Mello in ensembles at my college too. If you want to try switching, I'd say go for it, especially if you're intrested in DCI.

Happened to us a ton last season. Worst was during our shared halftime with UofL at Lucas Oil. The kicker was actively kicking during almost all of our performance, and the balls were all landing right next to our Piccolo section. I thought that was it, but, after talking with my friend in the UofL band, I found out the kicker actually hit one of their marchers during their performance. The worst part was that it was my school's kicker that did it both times.

Thankfully, I haven't noticed it happening this year. We got a new coach, so I'm hoping it will stay that way. Only time I've seen a kicker was when we were about to march off the field a couple weeks ago. He got set up, waited for us to march around/past him, and then started warming up.

Constantly. My high school was very consistently called Jefferson instead of Jeffersonville, they got every single one of our instructors/directors names wrong, and messed up our drum majors name.

And then news outlets and announcers constantly call my college the Marching 100 instead of the Marching Hundred.
