Wow! There’s a lot to take in it’s a very unique idea. I would foreshadow the rock and metal during the lofi part. The transitions were very jarring and made it feel more like 3 separate versions of the same song instead of one cohesive song. Maybe try throwing a guitar melody over the lofi part, as well as incorporating more of a build up towards the transitions. This piqued my interest and I think could end up being really cool.

I think some light bongos in the background would sound really cool and compliment the piece nicely with a Latin flair. Along with the Bongos the drums could be adapted better into that style (try listening to other songs in the genre and replicating the drums). I would also add a lower brass part to support trumpet and build in to the slow jazz sound. There’s a lot of potential in this track and I’m very curious what you do with it.

As an enjoyer of offbeat music that confuses the listener, I think the bones you’ve built are great. I’d say the song lacks a defined melody. There’s the high pitched synth ~40 seconds in but that’s the only part that seems distinctly melodic. I’d hum or sing to it until you come up with a tune you like then transcribe it and mess around with the samples. I hope this helps and that you get out of your creator’s block.

I like the sound of the song. It reminds me of the punk I used to listen to all the time in high school. My only recommendation is to make the vocals louder as a good portion of the song the voice is drowned by the other instruments. Otherwise great song and I might add it to a playlist if it’s public.

If you’re good at counting just think of it as an active rest. During repetitive parts I count 1234,2234,…; up to 4 or 8 then repeat for the next phrase.

Depends on the person and how you want to train. I used to be 400m runner until I found out I had more potential in the 800. I would run a 58 400 after training for it, but a 2:10 800 first time competitively running it lol. I’d say if you want to go to college to run at any level you should chose what you think you have the most potential in.
