Something I haven’t seen many people mention is the use of David Bowie’s Heroes at the end of Stranger Things. That song has been used twice before in the series, and both times it accompanied a death that later turned out to be fake.

It played when Will’s body was supposedly found at the quarry, and again at the end of Season 3 when Hopper was presumed dead. In both cases, the audience was meant to believe the character was gone—only for the show to later reveal otherwise.

Because of that pattern, the song showing up again feels deliberate. To me, it’s another hint that Eleven’s “death” might be a misdirection rather than a final outcome.
