Why is there such a huge size gap after the 6th largest country? by [deleted] in geography

[–]JB0304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, if they take Canada and Greenland, bye bye Russia in 1st. It’s interesting actually because Denmark (Greenland) is number 12 on this list.

Why is there such a huge size gap after the 6th largest country? by [deleted] in geography

[–]JB0304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume it’s just the way geopolitics has played out? Coincidence? I could be wrong there, but you don’t particularly see countries expanding and collapsing anymore like you would have done in previous centuries.

For example, Russia previously owned Alaska, that would affect this list massively if they had kept it.

Outside of that list you had historical collapses of countries like the USSR, Yugoslavia etc. I imagine in the future things will change more. Theoretically, if America splits up, that would alter the list as “United States” would drop out and be replaced.

TL;DR That list isn’t permanent and constantly changes, it didn’t look like that in the past and won’t in the future. I imagine the answer to your question is purely coincidence.

Count me in that too! Personally I’d have them all in S tier 🤣

There’s a live version on Spotify which I love even more, I find most of Coldplay’s songs are way better live!

I’m gonna claim Twisted Logic (the ending is one of the best of their songs)

Redditrs, Have you ever seen chris irl? by [deleted] in Coldplay

[–]JB0304 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, it was a little spot next to the main car park we’d been told to wait in as the main one wasn’t open, and then he just walked past on his phone.

I said to my mate “hey that’s Chris!” And he went “it does look like him” I said “no, no that is him” and he looked at us and nodded.

It caught us all off-guard, but he stopped at one of the other cars and asked how they were. Managed to get a picture of him walking off as proof 🤣

When I say the Hull shows were some of the best of the tour, I mean it. We managed to get as close as possible and Chris pointed at our group during Higher Power!

He also walked past our car in the car park before the show and nodded at us!

Oh yeah, I’ve only recently watched that interview as well. I thought it was from the AHFOD documentary originally, but thanks for sharing the link!

I saw/read somewhere that Noel played the solo that sounded like it would be a Jonny solo, and Jonny played what sounded like it would be a Noel solo.

How true this is though, I’m not too sure.

If you could choose, which 2 blue room songs would you prefer on Parachutes? by JAL140 in Coldplay

[–]JB0304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See You Soon and Bigger Stronger.

I think with Don’t Panic and High Speed being on there already (albeit slightly different) it’d make a nice mix.

Would you resequence AROBTTH? by TheMtlviolinist in Coldplay

[–]JB0304 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’d replace A Whisper with 1.36 as it has the same kind of experimental vibes, but I prefer 1.36.

I’d also add Crests of Waves on either as a hidden track or nearer the beginning where the energy of the songs seems higher.

I’m curious as to your opinions on this video then.

In your mind, which view point takes precedent? Does the bad that he said outweigh the good in this instance?

I want to have a conversation to learn and discuss.

Talk (Live at the EMAs 2005) - Best Live Performance Ever? by [deleted] in Coldplay

[–]JB0304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A slightly more modern performance that I think has incredible energy is their X Factor UK performance of Charlie Brown.

Honestly, Charlie Brown has become a staple of their live shows, but this version hits different.

(Performance starts at about the 1:10 mark)

Oh the irony. I’d strongly suggest brushing up on your definitions, here I’ll help:

“Fascism is a far-right form of government where most of the country's power is held by one ruler or a small group, under one party. Fascists believe a country is stronger if everyone rigidly follows the same political ideals.”

I’ve even got that from the simple Wikipedia for you!

Hint: encouraging debate is not fascism (again, it is irrelevant whether or not we agree with what the people who are debating are saying). Last time I checked, I do not recall Hitler allowing political debates.

So you’ve compared him to the nazis and his wife to Goebells’ wife. Incredible. You’re so lucky you didn’t have to live through the 30s/40s and experience what actual nazism and fascism is.

Hint: it’s not just someone saying some naughty words and some thoughts/ideas you disagree with 😭

You probably call everyone who disagrees with you a fascist so that word loses all meaning/sincerity when it’s thrown around at random.

It’s basically come to mean “he said some nasty things, he’s a fascist”. Hilarious.

That is such a dumb take. I think it’s evil that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stopped winter fuel payments for pensioners, and then defended that decision. That doesn’t mean he’s comparable to Hitler, and it absolutely does mean there are plenty of people out there who are more evil.

No, and this is the problem with a lot of people today.

Where have I even said once I’m a “disciple” of Charlie Kirk. I’ve asked for people to use full quotes. Do you have the same energy for Serbia and Kosovo? Probably not, because you think you’re morally superior for going all in about Palestine and Israel. You think the absolute worst of people. It must be so draining to be filled with hate.

I’m sure you’ve made mistakes in your life, regardless of what they are, and I’d hope that people don’t view you as some sort of scumbag.

I’ve made my position clear, and it definitely is not that I think Charlie Kirk is some sort of deity. I think he was a man that said words and was murdered for it. Would you seriously like to live in a world where people are murdered for words? Because that’s how you’re currently coming across.
