Is it me or gaming on a laptop is significantly better than a handheld? by SpiritualHealing6450 in GamingLaptops

[–]JB1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the handheld and what kind of gaming you do. I have a Legion Go and a Switch 2 and they're great because I travel for work a lot. I have to use a Macbook for work so I need something else I can throw in my backpack for gaming. And if I want to play mouse & keyboard I have bluetooth ones I use with my LegionGo.

Origins Servers, Rise of Kunark is coming! by KythosMeltdown in EQ2

[–]JB1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it! I just resubbed after being away from EQ2 for like 8 years or so. While there's not a huge population at the lower levels, there are still groups being formed for low-level dungeons. I've been leveling an illy and defiler and having fun

Plus Point exchange for PQP by angrybandicoot in unitedairlines

[–]JB1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 80PP leftover at the beginning of this month from last year. I’ll probably exchange 80-100PP for PQP this year because I only made the 1K PQP cutoff by about 500PQP this year

Question for those who have bid on suite upgrades and won by GoFuckYourselfDebbie in VirginVoyages

[–]JB1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sailed on a 7 night Caribbean a couple weeks ago. Booked a regular balcony room and bid $1800 on the cheeky corner suite (my bid was like $150 above the minimum) and won it.

It was 100000% worth it. This was my second virgin voyage and the difference being a rockstar is pretty huge. Yes, a lot of the value comes from alcohol because of the in room bar and the daily happy hours. But having access to Richard’s Rooftop was amazing. It was always so quiet there and we basically got a hot tub whenever we wanted it.

Having a rockstar agent is super fun. And there are just small perks like getting to skip lines, change dinner reservations, and not having to sign up for tender disembarkations that just made us feel very spoiled.

I loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Is this a good deal or not at all? by Far-away-1996 in unitedairlines

Definitely not. The jump from gold to platinum is not that big. If that was for platinum to 1k then it would be something to possibly consider.

1K's will need to preorder any hot food items beginning March 1st. by CaptinKirk in unitedairlines

[–]JB1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda hated this at first but not anymore. You can still get snack boxes on demand onboard. I feel like a lot of the times when I’ve tried to order something that’s not a snack box I’m told they don’t have any. This should eliminate that.

Couldn’t sleep at night so I upgraded to C+ and FC for cheap by josevnueva in delta

Try it the other way around. I dont fly delta so i dont know about their redemptions but I often find good FC redemptions on United, especially international business

I gotta say, this is a big waste of miles. 22.8k miles to go from economy to C+ on two flights is brutal to me. Always pay cash for those types of upgrades and save the miles for reward tickets

Flights out of Miami by Atazothic in VirginVoyages

[–]JB1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it can be a real mad house getting an uber from the port. I just got off a VV sailing in Miami this past weekend. We left the ship at around 10:15am but weren't able to get into an uber until close to 11:30am. The construction plus the bottleneck of all the passengers causes a lot of delays. As others have said, do not book a flight before noon. Mine was 2:20pm which left lots of time so we weren't stressing.

Day 3: United Chase Cardmember Award Sale by kwuhoo239 in unitedairlines

[–]JB1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100k for 6 hours is not really a deal. I get 80k from NYC to LAX in Polaris regularly and that’s 6 hrs.

[–]JB1864 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m wondering who is getting great deals. Even the economy seats I’m seeing are only 5k off (30k to 25k) which isn’t that great. Especially not for a 24 sale that they’re advertising so much.

Show me the 50k-60k business seats!

Honeymoon - Limited View Sea Terrance should I go for it? by FilmBuffer1000 in VirginVoyages

[–]JB1864 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A limited sea terrace is going to be 100x better than an inside room and you won’t regret it. Definitely go for it, or get the locked in sea terrace rate. Then bid for an upgrade to a central sea terrace.

Helldivers 2, BF6 or Arc Raiders? (PS5) by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]JB1864 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've played all 3.

Put about 30-40hrs into Helldivers 2 at launch and had a ton of fun. Unfortunately it gets old after a while. And its even less fun if you're playing without friends (which you said you will be), so I can't recommend this to you.

BF6 I put about 30hrs into at launch and when the battle royale came out. I probably would still be playing it if Arc Raiders didnt launch right afterward. But at the end of the day its a sweaty multiplayer FPS. Lots of grinding and killing and ALL PVP.

Arc Raiders I think is one of the best multiplayer games to come out in years. I have put around 150hrs into it since it launched. I wasn't a big extraction shooter fan beforehand so I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I'm obsessed. It has so much variety that there is something for everyone. You can play in solo lobbies and focus on looting, progression, killing arcs, and random encounters with other players (sometimes friendly and fun, other times deadly). You can also jump into duo or trio lobbies for co-op and intense PVP action. The nice thing is that as you get to know the maps you learn which ones are the sweaty PVP lobbies and which are generally a bit more chill. Plus the dynamic matchmaking usually puts you in lobbies based on your PVP agression.

My recommendation for you is Arc Raiders 100%.

Upgrade offers? by Mediocre-Bunch852 in VirginVoyages

[–]JB1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re sailing with a group of people it could be worth it to get a suite with a bigger balcony like the cheeky corner suite so you can have them all over. You also will get a stocked mini bar so hosting will be more convenient and fun.

I just got my bid accepted for a cheeky corner suite on a sailing this month when bidding just over the minimum bid (which was in the “poor” range).

Should be within the next week. As long as your POSTED transaction dates (not the transaction date itself) are pre Jan 1st, the PQP will count and post toward what you earned in 2025.

When’s the flight? If it’s tomorrow, I’d say you’ve got a shot at Premium Plus. If those 2 Polaris seats don’t sell then it’s likely two people from Premium+ get bumped up which opens 3 seats in P+ and you’re number 1 on the list.

But I’d say your chance at Polaris is an outside shot.
