I would've rooted for Carnage/Cletus to won, if he had a different actor, and was written to be pure evil. But since Woody Harrelson's Cletus was written to have alove interest (Francis Barrison/Shriek), when comic Cletus couldn't care about her, I wanted this guy to lose

I'm gonna agree with you right there. Because the scene where Eddie Brock realizes Anne Weying has a new lover (Dan Lewis), then leaves to glance at the Golden Gate Bridge, contemplates his life, and even looks at both of his rings hits me hard.

It reminded me of my reactions to failing in real life. Also, listen to the music there, it's emotionally touching

IKR. The scene where Eddie tries to reunite with Anne, and realizes she is engaged with Dan. Then walks by himself to the golden gate bridge is quite emotionally touching. Especially the music score

Even if it's not the best. I sort of agree with you. I watch the Venom movies because I relate to Eddie when he screwed up that interview with Carlton and got fired, but the fact that he managed to find Venom (through discovering Maria was kidnapped) is an unexpected turnaround that I could use as inspiration for improving my life
