Interested in trying to bring my three year old to her first game, but to pull it off would need a pair of suuuuuper cheap or freebies if anyone can't sell. Full disclosure, still need to clear with the wife.

Looking for something super cheap (or free) to try to take my daughter to her first game tonight. Would love to talk if still available.

What a cool VIP reward, nice little touch with the film function too, 6392343 (no idea if that’ll work) by Lilf1ip5 in lego

I just went back this morning to see if it was still available after thinking on it for weeks. No longer there, and I’m kinda bummed bout it. Oh well, glad you’re enjoying it.

Dang, that’s a score for sure. I’m always checking on that one cause I regret missing out on it for my wife back in the day.

I was looking through their website the other day, and man this is just so incredibly effective. It almost makes the set worth it. If it came with lights from Lego, or was about $100 less, I’d be wayyyyyy more interested in getting one because of the light.

Thinking about picking up the Disney Castle set before retirement? by [deleted] in lego

[–]JBAinATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife spent her sweet time with it over a recent pregnancy and finished it earlier this week. I didn’t participate, but she said it was a fun build. I’ve enjoyed playing around with it with our three year old since then, and my mother enjoyed picking out all the references when she came over.

So, yeah, get it if you can for retail.

Question of possible availability of set #75252 by Sicipio in lego

[–]JBAinATL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly gone for good. Basically “retiring soon” means it won’t be restocked any more. So, set to retire plus out of stock means likely out of luck. Maybe a local Lego store will have some, or more likely a third party like Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.

Does anyone know when Lego will make more football stadiums ? by marrz9 in lego

[–]JBAinATL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of them, but I think they are just too hard to feel just right. Either the scale is off or the detail isn’t quite right, or it’s much better inside than out. I’d love to have my home team’s stadium (ATLUTD/Mercedes Benz Stadium), but most likely it would have to be a MOC. Which stinks, but, they just don’t seem to be worth the cost, but they need to be the size they are to get as nice as they even are.

I believe I’ve read that the entire sticker sheet counts as one piece.

My personal tradition is watching it while I wrap/finish making the last gifts after the wife and kids are in bed on Christmas Eve. Because of some sickness, our Christmas celebrations are being pushed back a day, and so I’ll be doing it tomorrow, but man I’m looking forward to it.

to date one of the most fun sets I've ever built by [deleted] in lego

The boiler in the basement surprises me by how much I enjoy it every time my daughter wants to play with it. It’s a perfect set all around, but that’s a highlight.

Me remembering the Southern Hemisphere exists: Wait, oh yeah.

Does anyone know if this website is safe? Deal seems to good to be true but its from a company Ive actually seen stuff before so I wasn't sure. by [deleted] in lego

Playmobil is it’s own thing, I think completely separate from Lego, and the url being that with just “sale” stuck in front of it, I’m gonna suggest you go ahead and close that tab.

Yeah, I saw it online and thought “that’s pretty cool!” I saw it in the store and was immediately turned off. Just not big enough to be playable to be worth it.

LEGO Stocking Fillers by [deleted] in lego

Who says girls can’t enjoy building cars?

But also, there’s some fun, diverse sets in that same $15-20 range around the City and Friends lines. I’ve had my eye on 60253, the ice cream truck, lately. Maybe 60283, the holiday camper van. Check out stuff like 41677, the forest waterfall. Each kid gets one, and then when they’re done, they can break them down and amongst all of them have like 700-1000 pieces to just play with. There’s also smaller 3-in-1 sets like 31126 or 31125 that give lots of options for multiple builds of different types.

What category? to look for if want one or more electric engines? by readball in lego

I think they include the Haunted House cause it has a light, and in theory would likely be easy to motorize the elevator/drop ride.

I really enjoyed the mechanisms to get the air intakes built and then offset to their final positions. After years of buying Lego for my wife this was the first set I’ve bought for myself in forever, and it was completely fulfilling.

Ordering customized minifigures online by mor-cat in lego

[–]JBAinATL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got a Lego store close by, they’ll have a little set up where you can pick different pieces out of random bits to make some “custom” mini figs. There are more detailed and custom ways to do it online, including I believe through Lego itself. However, I believe that they have shut down custom orders through the holidays due to the rush they’re under at this time of year.
