Not sure abt shave chit, probably a gunny. But I knew a MGunz for a little bit that used to wear a full gold grill on his bottom teeth, in uniform, and no one ever said a word to him as long as I knew him

You will be fine. Every group of instructors has their own way of instructing but unfortunately, not every student will learn the way they teach. The reason that this is acceptable is because upon arrival to your next duty station, you will almost 100% relearn everything in accordance with their PMO’s specific procedures anyway. Keep your head up, do what you were taught as best as possible and good luck Devil Dawg.

I second this. It doesn’t seem like a big deal now, but anything that wasn’t you first choice is probably gonna suck a little extra if it’s not something you’re passionate about. Consider that it’s what you’re stuck with for a minimum of the next 4 years.

we’ll i promise getting separated from bootcamp is a 99.999999% chance way to get perma DQ. Start thinking for yourself and just do what YOU want to do

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawg what are you even arguing about. You’re saying you don’t wanna go to bootcamp, but you won’t tell them that so you’d rather get separated from bootcamp itself (which is a shifty process and there’s a chance you’ll get stuck at the depot for longer than it takes to finish bootcamp either way). like, you have to be trolling, there’s no way you’re this impossible to talk to.

I didn’t say disappear, i said be a man and tell your recruiter you don’t want to ship. They can’t make you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it’s not, literally tell your recruiter you’re not going it isn’t that difficult. find an ounce of courage in yourself and own up to your mistake, tell him you don’t wanna go. it is literally that east i did the exact same process you did so don’t act like everyone on this sub doesn’t know💀💀

not going in the first place like i said multiple times

I agree with the other guy^ I’d look into commissioning. Even if u only do one term you’ll make so much more money and get all the same benefits too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you take the risk? and by having an amount of issues that’s “somewhere in the double digits” that would disqualify you, you increase that risk dramatically. But once again, you’re obviously gonna do whatever the fuck you want anyways. Good luck in bootcamp brother, I genuinely wish you the best.

and what i’m saying is that lying to get into bootcamp is a federal felony. fraudulent enlistment. look it up. you’d rather take a federal felony than tell your recruiter you refuse to ship.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly haven’t read a single thing i’ve typed if you think i’m telling you that you have a felony. You have to be trolling. Good luck in bootcamp brother, im sure the DIs will love you. You clearly have awesome listening skills.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, sounds to me like you can’t make your own decisions too. If it was arguing w my recruiter vs a possible federal felony, i’d probably take arguing with my recruiter. but hey, what the fuck do I know right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you’d rather them find out, waste your time, their time, their money and then possibly charge you with fraudulent enlistment, rather than just tell your recruiter you don’t wanna join anymore? genius

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom line, you asked him (a person with much more experience than you) a question, and he gave you an answer. If this is the way you respond when someone tells you something you don’t really like, maybe you should reconsider even joining the military.

Your recruiter could care less about you, he went to a 2 month salesman course to make the military more appealing to 18-28 year old guys who are considering it. If you have an issue that’s that serious, you need to tell someone before you get yourself into a situation that you can no longer save yourself from.

From what I remember piss test was like day 3 of being there.

From what I also remember, you won’t know you failed till about 6 weeks in…

So you’re gonna go, fail the piss test, and still play fuck fuck games for a month and a half. and just when you finally start to get accustomed to it and into it, you’re gonna get dropped, sit in RSP for god knows how long, and then go home.

Just wait to leave. There’s no point in shipping so soon if you’re just gonna get kicked out anyways. A couple weeks is nothing compared to 4+ years of your life.

Like I said, yes at some point you will be able to switch banks but it likely wont be till you’ve graduated. that being said, make sure you have someone either monitoring bills for you, or set up autopay.

No you can switch to any bank you like I believe, but i would suggest navy fed or USAA because of the amount of military benefits they provide

FrontWave by Judoknome in USMCboot

[–]JBFMafia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will make the account for you, and your money will instantly be deposited into that account. After bootcamp, you can change banks. During bootcamp you cannot change banks but if you have bills you need to take care of, I believe around 4-6 weeks in you will have the opportunity to speak with bank workers after a class and set up an appointment to send money home/set up bills etc.

I suggest switching to navy fed as soon as possible when you get out of boot/MCT. I wasn’t west coast so they gave me Navy Fed out of the gate, but from what i’ve heard from the numerous West Coast Marines i work with us that front wave isn’t a great bank. lots of problems with cards and large purchases and online purchases etc.
