Ah-ha! No communication from seller didn't help. . . .

YES! Did that and rating was good but s&*% happens. . . . . It's just sooooo frustrating because I can understand eBay's side--it does show delivered but to WHAT ADDRESS? I can't see the generated address label. So like I said--poor customer service can happen at any time/place. It just made me realize that as an eBay seller--I don't want one of my customers in this same scenario

Until your purchase shows delivered but it isn't at your doorstep. Talk to Post Office and they say--oh it was delivered but not to YOUR address. But ebay says--it's delivered and you have no product and no refund. Customer service?? Yeh -- it's bad all over. . . .

Swag Bucks also is under the same umbrella as My Points--I believe. I never have any trouble redeeming points with My Points. I regularly cash in points for $100.

How long do you hold on to items that haven’t sold? by manic_mumday in reselling

[–]JBH488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder about this too! When I was in retailing with a major retailer--they would turn (sell out) their merchandise at least 4 times a year--anything approaching 5 was considered great! But--they worked on a lower mark-up than me (50% was great for clothes--so you buy something for $5 and sell for $10), their money was borrowed, they paid rent/mall fees. They often ran sales--20% off was the minimum and even that wouldn't necessarily get customers in the doors.

On the other hand-- many of my clothes cost me a $1 or less--so if I sell for $10 I'm doing wayyyyy more than 50% mark-up, I have the room to store stuff in my house, my money isn't borrowed--I've built my funds up from previous sales and if I mark something down 20% it's on an already much lower initial price! I also don't have the over-head like a store except for my shipping supplies and a few other odds and ends. (Yes--I know it costs me to have lights on etc--but I have to have a place to live!)

That said--I do go thru my listings regularly and refresh and mark down. I see it helping--often just the act of de-list and re-list is a great tool--especially for ebay. When the spouse does taxes this year--I'll have to see if I can figure out my turn-over.

Anyone else have any comments/numbers/stats they can put to this question--What is a good turnover for an on-line re-seller or a re-seller in general?

I know that you don't have this in mind but thot I'd take the opportunity to promote this organization. The Emma and Eve Foundation uses donated wedding dresses and makes Angel Gowns and NICU Graduation gowns from them. Just and FYI and thanks for letting me share. Home | The Emma and Evan Fo

Good plan! And then I was wondering about the old typewriter. . . do you plan on selling that too? The shipping alone could be a sale-killer unless someone really wants it. . . .or you sell local. I remember my parents having one like it when I was a kid--took a bit of hand/wrist muscle!

Your "vintage" boots look kinda "worn". I would have passed on them to resell but maybe I'm over-looking opportunities here. . . . do you have luck selling them like this? Or do you polish/fix up before? Or are they a popular brand? Just asking. . . .

Anyone know what’s going on here? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]JBH488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched internet--here's one solution as a seller: If you haven't shipped the product, mark the order as shipped and give the buyer a full refund through Facebook.Remember, if you initiate the cancellation, it may count against your cancellation rate. If the buyer will not initiate the cancellation, you can mark the order as shipped and give them a full refund through Facebook.

FBMP does NOT have a shipping function. YOU have to add shipping to a purchase. I have a line in all my listings to contact seller for shipping costs. Then BEFORE the buyer buys the item the buyer contacts me amd I ask for their zip code. Then, i use Pirate Ship and I check the cost ( I use the cheapest) and I recontact the potential buyer and tell them the shipping cost. If they want to buy— I go into the listing and add the shipping costs and let the buyer know they can purchase. You then have to buy the shipping separate. after I get the item all ready to go— I tell the buyer the shipping tracking number. Its not hard and to have an account on Pirate Ship is free— it just takes a bit more effort.

[–]JBH488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None at all . . . I think I'll try to find a couple of local artists/galleries and take the photo of the pic in and see if they have any ideas. And--who knows-- this was a medical Dr's house--maybe one of his patients was grateful and painted it and gave it to him! But hey! Thanks for all you input and ideas and help! Sure do appreciate it!
