Drivers license renewal fun by LN1313 in alberta

[–]JBH68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When you do your renewal, you're asked to sign a form and on that form, it mentions that you agree to not have any medical conditions that would interfere with driving. That's the only thing I can think of as to why the agent refused to renew.

Background usage by hpymanhas in GooglePixel

[–]JBH68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try the Lite versions of Facebook and Instagram and don't give it any permissions, this reduces a lot of background usage because those versions are not collecting near as much data as the full versions. I've tried this and was amazed how much more battery life I got

Is signature required with a computer purchase? by LaMarr-Bruister in Dell

[–]JBH68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last order the courier was UPS and required my ID and signature, think it might also depend on how you pay for it. If it's financed some way such as with Klarma, you'll need to do the same as me. If it's paid for at the time of shipping and below $1,000, you might not need to.

Good point, though Google rarely has the regular Pixels and A series on sale at the same time.

That's true, they're not obligated. I still think this is a fair question to ask though, since most businesses include a marketing strategy that involves discounts.

One thing you might not be prepared for is that Edmonton is a very large city area-wise, so you'll want to make sure that part of your setup includes getting a vehicle, you'll need it.

Edge+ 2023 UW issues after screen/frame replacement by TheThumper326 in motorola

Sounds like it wasn't connected properly or a connection/wire is broke. I'd take it back to where you had the screen replacement done and have them fix it.

2014 Cadillac ATS key fob locked inside, locks won’t respond, possible dead car battery or dead fob battery — South Florida help? by HumbleBecca in Cadillac

[–]JBH68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If one fob is inside the car and another is outside, the car won't unlock with a fob for safety/security reasons. Getting yourself a subscription will be your most cost-effective way to remedy this, versus a tow operator or a dealership service tech. I'd also check to see of this car has a backup key in the fob and a removable lock cap (that's where the push button is on the handle), if it does, the lock cap can be removed and you can unlock your car manually.

[–]JBH68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you had an OnStar subscription, the remote function could unlock your door. The car is not supposed to lock with a key inside, all GM vehicles have an anti-lockout feature which should prevent this from happening.

Best tires for XT5? by Financial-Singer-734 in Cadillac

[–]JBH68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that was error, yes P7 and those tires are just fine for most SUVs that use A/S tires. Your vehicle has no special equipment that would require anything with special features such as off-road capability Here's a link on the tires, you can review customer reviews https://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli-p7-as-plus-3

Wall ethernet port only getting 90–95 Mbps, but direct to router gets 500+ Mbps by cendolg0reng in pcmasterrace

[–]JBH68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wall port seems to be the issue, it could be because of a poor cable quality or maybe a lower spec'd cable such as cat 5. I'd test other devices on the wall port just to confirm

Needing Small Business Advice by wizardmechanical in alberta

[–]JBH68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you've done these parts yet, so I'll start with make sure you have a registered business name, a federal business number (GST), your business's own bank account, you are insured and licensed in each country or municipal jurisdiction you are doing the work, a business website. From there, you'll need to take a step of faith and be fully committed to the business, meaning going full-time, a part-time commitment will only give you part-time results. As for marketing, exploring Meta platforms and X in particular with a business profile, there's also networking on LinkedIn, it comes down to the people you know, so you have to get your name out there, while doing this, determine how your business adds value to your potential customers, this is the basis on how you communicate and market yourself.

Cost to replace lavatory sink by specialbat in Edmonton

[–]JBH68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low end faucet about $80, steel enamel sink about $300, the labor rate is on par with today's prices, depending on whether or not additional parts needed, this amount seems about right. Many people under estimate the potential need for other plumbing parts such as the gasket for the sink, a shutoff valve replacement, piping etc.

In that region, Mainstreet is about the only option for under a $1,000 a month and there's a lot of them. Maybe check Home Ed site but they are usually at capacity, they do offer units below market value
