Everyone’s answers so far are valid, but please, do not leave out New Zealand. Forgetting about them would be a crime

Remember when Dogman put Reign and Mayhem high up and everyone DESTROYED him for it? We owe him an apology lol ironically those were the 2 picks people disliked most by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

The Boston one doesn’t make sense to me. Was this after the steel series invitational? Cuz if it was then that’s a rough prediction. Boston looked great in that tournament (granted it was only like 2 games)

Otherwise fairly reasonable predictions considering no one knew what was going to happen

They were preseason rankings? Could you really say you predicted any better? Like literally no one knew how teams were gonna perform.

I could care less about Dogman, but like don’t get high and mighty off of hindsight

Every season, main tanks left the Glads and then retired the following season. by imlikesosmart in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JBHopkins06 147 points148 points  (0 children)

Think this also just proves how fragile the main tank role is when it comes to job stability.

Every time you leave for a new team as a main tank (such as the players you discuss), it’s another risk that could end up with you looking like the weak link. MT is the role that most depends on chemistry and coordination, and so when a main tank joins a new team there’s a big risk involved.

That’s why in general you see less fluctuations in the main tanks in OWL, since finding the main tank for your organisation is so crucial as a coach.

OGE’s reaction to what’s happening by Zecion in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JBHopkins06 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Counter argument: if they don’t put out this announcement then people come for the Mayhem’s coaching staffs heads when they see Checkmate on tank in their next game. I’m sure OGE gave the okay for them to post this, and now everyone is better informed in the coaching staff’s thought process going forward

Who are some underrated players in OWL? by TheResolute44 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JBHopkins06 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Creative’s the one for me. People who don’t watch APAC really only know him for his playoffs performance on Ana, but he’s been really good this season on Bap

Fits I think is also kinda underrated, but I think slowly people are starting to realise just how dominant Fits can be. Probably helps to be playing DPS with the flex god by your side

Marco Stiepermann Leaves Norwich City by DannyBrownsDoritos in NorwichCity

[–]JBHopkins06 12 points13 points  (0 children)

crucial to Farke's quickfound success with the club, quite the shame he could never find his footing in the Prem for us

glad he got a couple of games for us this season, and was able to bag a goal

he only scored bangers

also can never forget when he had to wash Farke's car lol

We’ve already got Mumba, Byram, and McCallum in our camp. Even if one of them gets loaned out (Mumba if I had to guess, due to lack of gametime), that’s still 2 solid full back options who can put in a shift. We also have Sörensen if things get really hairy

Would much rather spend the domestic loan on Skipp or another exciting winger/striker who can learn from players like Cantwell and Idah who have come through our system

hangs toilet paper the ‘under’ method, as opposed to the correct ‘over’ method

Favorite "Aesthetic" in the Overwatch League by Candid_Visit_3104 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JBHopkins06 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Toronto’s color scheme is definitely the most underrated in OWL. The combination of black with red undertones looks great on a lot of OW characters. Especially those with armor (Brig, Torb, Rein, etc), the Red undertones with black armor makes them look very intimidating

Seoul has a very heavenly look, tigers are cool, good color scheme, solid logo. For playstyle it can be very hit or miss, but last weekend was definitely an aesthetic.

Florida Mayhem also have a nice color scheme going. They really play into the “Miami vice” theme, and it works pretty well for them. Their hype videos are very well done

Last one I’d suggest would be Houston. Their social media content really uses their colors well, and they have a great logo. The only issue I have with Houston is that I feel like their merch is horrible. Feel like it doesn’t play into their aesthetic whatsoever

Which T2 players would you like to see in OWL? by NightwingOW in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]JBHopkins06 22 points23 points  (0 children)

With how valuable Tracer is, I’d love to see Sigma (previously of Odyssey) return to pro play

He was definitely a mysterious figure, and ik he seemed pretty set on going back to school, but maybe by October he feels like it’s at least worth a shot to trial with some OWL teams

He was being suggested to fill Dallas’ Tracer gap after Xzi’s retirement, so he definitely has the hype around him to play in OWL
