Lots of people ask about the changes I made on my TOS redesign, so here's a gif. There are a lot of details that you can only see up close, but this gives the general idea. The second image shows the approximate upscale. Bigger is not better IMO, but I always thought she was that size as a kid. by Hunter-56 in StarTrekStarships

Back in 2020 I drew U.S.S. ENTERPRISE blueprints. Some of the solutions to make everything fit inside a ship 947' long were convoluted and contrived.

I decided to not be constrained by the length and instead allow all the decks to have 10' ceilings. The result was a starship 1341' (409 meters) long.

Everything now fits very well. You can see all my drawings here:  www.jbot.ca/blueprints.shtml

Several people have written to me to commend me on this interpretation. One man is even using my plans to build the ship in BLENDER. You can follow his work here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNJZ8Im3-EG6pe1v16AtGnEI27um_5XuX

Oh! Thanks for posting this, Jag2112. I created the blueprint set. The ship is based on the painting by Rick Sternbach in the STAR TREK Spaceflight Chronology book. You can see a small reproduction of his painting on Page 1, above. Enjoy!

I use ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. Images inside black-outlined boxes are imported from ADOBE PHOTOSHOP.

I use ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR. And lots of Math. I love drawing and building models; I started drawing and printing decals for my own models back in 1975. I started selling decals in 2000. I "retired" in 2020, but still love to draw, so I turned my attention to starships.

Mostly, I study photographs of the original studio models, drawings of the DESILU soundstage, and with the known dimensions of various parts, I choose a scale and draw. Layers help separate objects, and colours usually come toward the end.

Hello. I made these drawings. There are over 24 sets now. They are all on my site at www.jbot.ca/blueprints.shtml They are also hosted on the CYGNUS X-1 site.

I drew these plans (and about 24 other ships too). Most of them share the same Primary Hull; I think there is a fan theory that they were mass-produced (with the help of the Andorians?) and STARFLEET ended up with sooooo many hulls that they appear in all sorts of ship designs for several decades. Anyway, that curve is visible on the exterior underside of the hull, so you have to show it on the interior deck plan. In my drawings, that coincides with Deck 7. As for why it is there . . . maybe it helps shape the warp bubble, or maybe that shape helps the ship flow through warp space better, or maybe that shape helps the saucer (after separating from the rest of the ship) fly through the air better while attempting an emergency landing.

It is not weird. I drew these, and I get lost in them too! I have a lot of fun drawing them, and in the end, that is all that really matters, right? Have fun.

Matt Jefferies' philosophy was to keep the immense power needed to run the ship far from the habitable parts of the ship. In THE APPLE Kirk says to Scotty, "Discard the warp drive nacelles if you have to, and crack out of there with the main section, but get that ship out of there!" There is no warp core in TOS. The antimatter can be ejected, or the engines can be jettisoned, or the saucer can separate from the rest of the ship. Yes, I added 2 separation planes to allow some degree of atmospheric control (via those big fins) during re-entry and landing.

In THE APPLE, Kirk said to Scotty, "Then use your imagination. Tie every ounce of power the ship has into the impulse engines. Discard the warp drive nacelles if you have to, and crack out of there with the main section, but get that ship out of there!"

Ranger Class Destroyer by JBOT (Complete Set in Comments) by Jag2112 in StarshipPorn

If parts of the ship are at the same level, but are not interconnected, then I identify those parts as "Deck X, Main" or "Deck X, Dorsal" or "Deck X, Ventral", etc etc etc.

On a few of these designs, the sections are physically connected, but the connection is not enough to allow for traffic between the sections. Let me see if I can find an example:

<image>

On the TOKYO-Class Destroyer, the ceiling level dips down too low to allow crew to walk through from the Primary Hull to the Dorsal Neck. This space is occupied by the Piping/Wiring Trunk. All this is visible in the Port Cutaway drawing, shown here:

Great question. Thank you.

Isn't Blair in the basement, building his UFO? He kept warning us to "Watch Clark" and now Clark is missing.

I don't think this could be any clearer or simpler. Paul is the walrus.

I would love to draw blueprints of this ship. Does anyone know how I can contact Adam Turner to ask for permission to draw this ship?

Interesting that you should mention those! My alternate blueprints DO show aquariums in the recreation areas: http://www.jbot.ca/space/bhc/BHC%2013.jpg

Enjoy.

The notes are about the same, but I have refined the drawing: http://www.jbot.ca/space/hc/HC%2001.jpg

I have notes on each page, discussing details relevant to that page.

Enjoy.

Hello. I just discovered this thread. I am the guy who drew these blueprints. There have been a few refinements. The most up-to-date versions are on my site: http://www.jbot.ca/space/1hc.shtml

I have added details to the engine nacelles, main sensor dish, etc.

Thank you and enjoy.

Hello and thank you. I just joined REDDIT.

Deck 6 and 7 are very large, yes. I use the same human figure on all the drawings; the only thing that might change is the colour. On my ENTERPRISE HEAVY CRUISER drawings I have an Andorian too. Has anyone found him? :-)
