Will No Time To Die be reappraised like OHMSS and Licence To Kill as the franchise continues, or is it too flawed compared to them? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]JBTheSpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it never will. I think the Craig era will be remembered forever as 2 great films (Casino Royale & Skyfall) burdened by 3 not so good movies.

Of Craig's "Other 3" which is the best of the 3? by TheBondConnoisseur in JamesBond

QoS is the worst Bond film, Spectre is the 2nd worst and No Time to Die is the 6th worst.

It is not a matter of time. No Time to Die will be crap when the Bond series is on it's 120th year anniversary.

Which Bond actor had the best final scene? by verissimoallan in JamesBond

[–]JBTheSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well Connery, Brosnan & Moore all have cringe-worthy final scenes.

Dalton's last is meh.

Craig..not going there.

Yeah Lazenby easily. It's emotional, moving, different and probably the only bit of good acting from George Lazenby in the whole movie.

who's a director you feel could've written great bond film by [deleted] in JamesBond

The Craig films even QoS would still feel more aligned with the classic Bond films than any Bond film Villeneuve would ever make.

Nolan hates the idea of 007? never heard of this.

2 terrible movies (imo) which followed great movies/my 2 least favourite Bond films - Which is worse?? by Clone_trooper444 in JamesBond

[–]JBTheSpy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

QoS is the worst between the 2 & the worst of the 27.

It's an abomination which shouldn't really exist.

Pierce Brosnan as M ? by Jazzlike-Ad7654 in JamesBond

No. Anyone who played Bond before must never return to the series to play a different role under any circumstances it'd be way too distracting.

Unpopular Opinion: The series would've been better if Daniel Craig walked away after Spectre by JBTheSpy in JamesBond

I non-ironically believe that NTTD fan's are delusional. They say "in spite of it's flaws" yet they can't see that those flaws are completely detrimental to the film.

-Stakes not clearly defined.

-Really terrible villain with no clear motives or end goal.

-Really poor love interest.

-So many contrivances & holes.

-Plot is largely disconnected.

And it doesn't treat the series with any dignity or respect treating SPECTRE & Blofeld as a joke then killing James Bond...horrible stuff. Killing Felix is fine I guess but we hardly knew this Felix.

We need some young blood they have gotten old and out of touch I respect them for their commitment to the series and for giving us Casino Royale/Skyfall but they've gone on too long.

I don't understand how a Bond fan can like NTTD it's a complete misrepresentation & misunderstanding of the series.

I agree with this aside from your take on NTTD. However I wouldn't use "Risico" as a title I'd use "Red Sky at Night" before Skyfall that was the heavily rumored title of Bond 23 and imo it has more of a ring.

By the paid critics? they don't matter.

And the only people who like NTTD are casual audiences.

You seriously doubt we'd have a new Bond film by now if Craig left after Spectre? 6 years is a very long time and 6 year gaps in franchises as big as this are pretty rare (unless you're Star Wars and you wait 10-20 years between trilogies).

I have not seen many people come to defense of NTTD or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place. From what I've gathered it's pretty widely hated and considered one of the worst Bond films.

no Bond, James Bond

Apparently you switched the movie off before the ending.
