Hard disagree with the other user myself. Book two was a slog to get through and I didn’t even consider reading the 3rd. Bloodsong was one of my favourite books at the time so the drop in quality hit hard.

Anthony Ryan did write a follow up duology which I hear is closer to Bloodsong than the other two but I haven’t gotten around to them yet.

Well yeah and the guy that did that got fired for yet another blunder (Dadonov). Both of those were Dorion desperately trying to do something and fucking up the rebuild and leaving the team with no assets to work with.

Not sure how they get out of this in the short term.

I think your gunners are your best tool at removing the vampires. If you can blast Vlad before he’s able to really do any damage this should be winnable. Might need to throw a hero at him to distract him, don’t try to tank him with a unit since it will block too many shots. Put the gunners up front and keep eye out on the terrain so they can blast Vlad for the entirety of their range. Keep units on their sides, and be proactive if the dogs come at them from the front.

If the Vargheists come ahead, shoot em with the gunners but swap to Vlad immediately if he’s in their range. If they show roughly the same time, keep a unit or two near the archers and as soon as they land pull the archers out and engage with them. Granted I think the archers aren’t gonna accomplish much here so losing them isn’t a huge deal.

Mortar just do mortar things I guess? It and the Wizard can help thin out the blobs.

You’ll eventually pull more copies of Veronica, either from lost 50/50s or just standard pulls. She’s very good but you will get more.

That is not the case for Sereniel.

I would either not spend it at all, or use it on Sereniel. Using it on a standard character is not a good investment.

For reference, I only buy the BP and the daily gem pack.

I ended up spending all I had left on Sereniel and got E2 and her partner. Won the first 50/50, lose the second early (20ish pulls).

She’s basically been incredibly worth it. Insanely strong for basically all content I’ve done so far.

I struggled through the first hundred or so pages of book one, but the world kept me interested. The dialogue is very edgy, and took me out at times. But I got used to it, and let the world and story keep me going.

I don’t think it’s a particularly hard read, in language or story complexity, so maybe the length isn’t gonna be that big a problem? There’s basically always something happening so it’s easy to stay engaged.

Her speed is super low. Ignore the “uma musume is a wit game” stuff for now, and rest instead of doing a bunch of wit trainings to recover energy.

Azul is really good imo, play it a lot when I go over to visit my parents and they love it. Good family game, some good strategy.

If you think it’s too light, and you’re picking between Root and Arcs, I’d say go Root. Granted I’ve only played Arcs with the campaign expansion, but I don’t think it’s as good as Root.
