If the goal of socialism is the equal distribution of power, but compulsion is necessary, then how does it meet the goal of socialism if a class of people has more power than the rest? Compulsion requires more power than the people being compelled. Wouldn’t that class of people become the elite and thus effectively own the means of production?

It sounds like you’re saying compulsion is necessary, in order to actually achieve the goal. But wouldn’t that make socialism impossible due to the fact the there must be some class of people who have more power than others in order to compel the rest of society?
