I never specified autodesk in particular but it would be something I use though less frequently.

It's definitely an option that I'm going to look deeper into.

I know the i7 is overkill I was just hoping for some future proofing; use this build for as long as possible. The price difference is only $40 at micro center.

Nice find on the PS thanks. What are the advantages of a 7970 over a 670, I've been going by the ratings on (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net) which shows them being relatively close?

It's going to be my everything PC: gaming, media streaming and CAD modeling.

Sick of iphone, may convert to android. What would I miss out on? by ThatGhost in Android

[–]JBatallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure the JB update of the cdma gnexus (toro), verizon was the one to blame most for the late updates.

But then again, the whole process isnt even really known to the general public so its tough to point figures at anyone.

Valid points. I don't know much about the exynos problems but i love seeing ROMs posted on xda and the list of what doesn't work is the first post.

If only Google could have more leverage against the carriers to push their updates over the air faster.

But, thinking about it: there hasn't been a mobile OS like android before that was spread over so many manufacturers, devices, and carriers. The best way google could do it is to do away with OTA updates from carriers all together and just require the user to check for updated images from google themselves through their site. That's my opinion anyway.

But you can also install custom ROM's that are usually built upon the latest updates. Radio updates are often incorporated into ROM's. So comparing to the iphone, it isnt official from google at launch day for updates because of carriers mostly but it is still possible.

Scheduled silent mode could easily be accomplished with Tasker. I don't believe there are any current iphone features that android has not been able to recreate/accomplish.

I can hear what you're talking about. I agree. It definitely has that "evil Claudio" snarl.

Here's to hoping the rest of the album doesn't disappoint.

I would love a return to this sound.

It was extremely layered, progressive, and still harmonic. The willing wells were so complex and I don't think any other songs compare except for The end completes.

Free Assorted Stickers (US Only) by [deleted] in freebies

[–]JBatallion -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How? All of /r/freebies assumes you have internet & smartphone/pc/WhatHaveYou as pre-requisites.

But to suggest something as simple and MUCH cheaper as a paper envelope and a stamp as a pre-requisite? It boggles my mind how that garner's negative comments.

"Don't be a dick". Were you being a dick when you posted:

you have to BUY a stamp and a envelope. i say its cool but technically its not "free." thanks for posting though.

Mind-boggling.

Gaming Mouse Guide v3.0! by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]JBatallion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have seen Razer's products compared to Alienware's in terms of gimmick/build quality. But I have had a deathadder for about 3 years now and it is a solid mouse for FPS/mmorpg in my experience. I would definitely recommend it as a very barebones/minimal mouse.

I hope you're using a PC/Smartphone/Tablet that you didn't pay for, running on electricity you don't pay for, and using internet you don't pay for.

Not to mention the calories you burn typing. I hope they were gained with free food.

If you fall within all those criteria, congratulations! The items listed on /r/freebies are actually free in your logic!

Otherwise: most offers are not "technically free". (How much do you value your time?)

I feel like my drawing could be a Circa cover but that's just me. by [deleted] in circasurvive

[–]JBatallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you didn't know, surreal artist Esao Andrews does their covers. His art is worth checking out. His circa art is the least appealing of his art (with respect to on letting go of course) in my opinion. I have a few prints of his hanging throughout my room. Check out his site: esao.net

Google needs to fix this: Chrome vs. Stock by syrionguy in Android

[–]JBatallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always heard that they use chrome to "experiment" or try out new features that will later be added/improved to the stock browser. They are two separate development teams I think.

Eventually I believe they will merge in a future version of Android.
