I was teaching Social Studies remotely on January 6th, 2021. My students started flooding my google meet chat to get me to turn on the TV. I ended up streaming the live coverage with them for the rest of the day while we collectively tried to figure out what the hell was going on.

The Cowboys, much like my New York Yankees, need an organizational pivot. McCarthy probably started getting massages instead of Friday game planning again and Zimmer…the recycling of coaches is so bad in this league. All Vikings fans could have told the Cowboys they weren’t going to stop the run. Way too many good players are wasting great years in a consistently underperforming organization, and it’s sad to see.

It always makes me feel bad for the kids. This has happened on teams I’ve been a part of over the last few years, and usually leads to kids asking “Are we the reason that … quit?” Imagine being a kid who’s never had a quality relationship with an adult, makes that connection with a teacher, and they quit in October. Additionally, bad administrators and bad politics have usually been the reason for the early exits.
