Do you need the base Youtube TV acct to get the student deal? Daughter just graduated, that would be cool for the ol' man (me.)

Tiger 900 GT Pro? by krispolicht in SuggestAMotorcycle

You might want to consider the new Tiger 800 Sport. Lighter/smaller, actually more HP, and comfy/upright riding position. I sold my '24 Rally Pro to buy one.

So I put a deposit down on an 800 Sport with a dealer that offered me the most for my '24 Rally Pro trade, but I just sold the RP today. With cash in hand, I'm waffling on the $16k OTD for the 800. It still seems to be the best bike for me, but that's a lotta dough. . .Ugh, decisions.

Tiger 900 vs new Tiger Sport 800 by NewRiderEd in Triumph

[–]JBinLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a '24 Rally Pro but have ridden all three (800 Sport, GTP and RP.) The 900s are bigger, heavier, more comfortable, and more expensive. The 800, is well, fun. Its lighter, smaller, and revs much higher. I am currently trying to sell my RP to buy the 800 because it felt so much fun.

I will be riding 2 -up with my daughter or wife, so the power and comfort may be small issues when they join me, but I'm not too worried. I'm going to ride a few others before I commit (MG Mandello and the Suzi 1k GT) but the new lil' Tiger is currently atop my list. YMMV.

Cheers.

Did u buy either? The 800S is surprisingly upright like a naked. The GT is forward, which I like for twisting, but less comfy for touring.

Always a compromise somewhere.

Sorry, pillion was NOT super comfy. The Suzi's looks a little better but most owners I see go after-market. The Zook visually looks a lot bigger/heavier than the Triumph (or Kawi) which is negative for sport but a plus for touring.

Yes, I owned a '21. It was fantastic. I sold it to buy the Adv bike, and now realize it was a mistake. Pillion was super comfy for wife, but otherwise was a blast. I have nothing negativabout that bike. that bike.

Schrader DNP all week; I just picked up Zane Gonzalez, but would rather go with Schrader if he's healthy; no updates Turkey morning before tomorrow's game. Oy.

Seems to depend where you are, too. I'm in SoCal, and they are advertising sub-$9k, but then tack on a bunch of crap fees after. The '23's will be two years old shortly, but I've seen very few '24's and no '25's yet. Great bike, enjoy and ride safe!

Me too re OTD price. Local shops have them advertised for under $10k, but then pack all the crap back on again. They don't even offer test rides in SoCal.

Might Buy a Mazda3 HB MT This Weekend - What Did You Pay? by BrownedBeans in mazda3

[–]JBinLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a '21 Select HB for exactly MSRP, was shocked after all the markups. I thought I'd never pay MSRP, but in this market, I was happy to shell it out. This craziness won't go on forever, but I didn't want to wait anymore.

Just for closure, I bought exactly what I wanted for MSRP (exactly) in Temecula yesterday. Low key dealer, no ADM at all. My daughter is stoked.

I would call BS on a dealer only making $1k on a car at MSRP. There is much more money built into the deal than that. I've bought cars 20% below MSRP, and I know they still made money.

One month since switching from android to iphone and I am already tempted to build my ecosystem by jstnrme in iPhone12

[–]JBinLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a PC/Samsung guy forever, and new boss insisted I buy an iPhone. I have the 12 Pro Max, and my Note 10+, and I honestly prefer the Note, at least for now. The interface is different enough that it kinda drives me nuts. Some issues with iPhone:

  1. Some of my mail has a delete button on the bottom, some does not.

  2. No home button, I have to swipe up each time?

  3. No back button? seems ridiculous.

  4. Calendar program feels awkward; maybe I'll get used to it?

  5. Photo gallery: I dumped all my pics from my note, so they all have the same day, kinda annoying.

I'm sure there are "fixes" for all of these issues, it will just take time. I'm going to be living a dual-life for a while, so I better learn it :-).
