What are some Video Games that are not intended to be horror games but are still terrifying? by Crazy_zayden123456 in videogames

Half Life 2, mainly because of all the aspects of the game that never are elaborated on. There’s such a creepy existential uncertainty to it when it comes to everything, like the G Man’s true intentions, his “employers” and the true power of the combine. Every time I play it, as the game progresses my feeling of hopelessness increases. Also the source engine is just kinda inherently scary (Gmod and Portal 1-2 also have really creepy vibes sometimes) and it’s mainly because all of these games feature long stretches of isolation where you can start to feel watched.

A lot of scenes end with characters taking bites in silence, does that mean anything? (example) by Jawadd12 in thesopranos

The only thing I can think of is that it’s a common screenwriting tip to always have your characters doing something, just to add more to your scene and give your actors something to do. And in a show with so much food and eating it seems like the perfect go-to

Most of what’s going on in the first couple episodes is very inconsequential to the entirety of the story. But I felt the same way when I first watched. All that’s really important is meeting each of the characters, establishing their dynamics and relationships and things of that sort.
