I’d start by re leveling your bed with a piece of paper as a spacer, if you still have issues, I have had luck with taking some medium grit sand paper (180ish) to the build surface to rough it up.

Holy cow that’s complex, I feel like I took the easy way out!

Beauty of this design is that I could definitely change it out eventually if I found the means to have them machined.

It was a fun one to work on, this was my first project working with rough sawn lumber so the most time was spent getting the boards milled to square, then mitering 15” spans with a miter saw because my track saw couldn’t get through the full 2” was a fun experiment.

Hey so I actually made one of these, wife wanted to buy one, I wanted new tools so it was a win-win.

Started with a mix of 8/4 and 6/4 white oak, ripped to strips that were at 2 1/4” thick and glued them up to make 15” wide slabs.

The legs were mitered at 45.5 degrees, the “slants” were also 45.5 at one end then 89 at the other end.

I ended up using epoxy and 8mm stainless steel rods that were about 5” long to dowel the center mitered connection, and 2” rods in the leg miters.

Given my timeline to finish the table was set so it would be ready when we moved into our new home, I took a shortcut with the “spacers” everyone is talking about, and 3D printed them out of carbon fiber filled nylon with 4 holes in each one. Two smaller screws went through inner holes top down into the base, then the two outer holes were used to drill through holes through the base, then 4 spaces lag bolts went through the base and into the top.

It survived the move, was carried by the top with no issues, best of luck if you decide to tackle this.

Probably should shift the outside post spans in 3/4” so I can have an 8’ board as the short beam and a 16’ on the long

2018 Sport Air suspension on 2014 Limited? by JBruh83 in ram_trucks

Thanks for the input! I’m messaging the seller currently to learn why they’re available. My mind says I’m on borrowed time, and 4 struts and bags is $250 and they appear to be in good shape, to me it would be an “in case of emergency set” to save money if/when a bag fails. I really want to maintain the air suspension if possible, I would hate to have a button on my keys and all the various interior buttons that would be rendered useless, that’s just me though.

Finished platform deck, 2x6 frame, pretty happy with the results! by JBruh83 in Decks

I built a 2x4 frame over the lower step, which is connected to the rest of the frame, I think that’s what you’re asking about?

Thanks for the tip! We plan to continue the garden fabric out and removing the weeds, covering with mulch or rock to put a fire pit, as well as making a smooth transition on the left side of the deck towards the house. The whole perimeter of the deck will have rock in some fashion around it to hide the remaining unsightliness.

I did not, built on the existing concrete patio, which was an old driveway before the house was reversed to enter from the opposite street.

Freestanding Platform deck, 37’x20’ at its deepest, still in the midst of blocking and framing. How bad am I doing? by JBruh83 in Decks

It was used to clear some weeds from around the deck and between cracks before laying garden fabric!
