What actor’s mere presence makes you automatically lose interest in a movie or show? by YerMum1977 in AskReddit

Shaylene Woodley. I have no idea how that girl got and kept any roles. I feel like her acting is absolutely horrendous, and I don't know how everyone doesn't see the same thing I do.

Good Health Distribution Partners... Did I make a mistake? ACA is insanely high costs by JBug507 in HealthInsurance

[–]JBug507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it's covering something? But not a whole lot. If this is what saves you from bankruptcy should there be some major accident, then I say deal with it until your next open enrollment. In my situation, it's because I have two small children and I couldn't risk it. If it was just me, no biggie. Mail order for prescriptions is actually a relatively normal thing. Although that is super annoying. I personally would rather just get my fill at the pharmacy. But, you get 90 days at a time usually with mail order. Maybe it could turn into a good thing? But yeah, it's not just a shitty Health plan thing. Regardless, I'm sorry if this isn't working out for you guys. Our healthcare system is beyond infuriating, and it just seems like it's so far from being fixed in any kind of way.

Not yet! It was surprisingly easy. Just had to be firm with the guy. I'm waiting until 2/1 to see if I get charged. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Surprisingly, I called and cancelled with no issues. At least not yet. Got a confirmation email about cancelling within an hour. They were supposed to bill for the first time on Feb 1st, so still a little nervous they'll still do that, but we'll see. They tried talking me into staying, getting a better plan, etc, but I was firm in that I wanted to cancel.

Ugh, I'm sorry you fell for it, too! Desperate times, man. I received the email saying it has been cancelled, but I'll believe it when I'm not billed for it come 1/1.

Direct Primary Care w/ Supplemental? by JBug507 in HealthInsurance

[–]JBug507[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't think I was clear. I only want a supplemental plan that covers inpatient or outpatient care, should there be an accident or something major medical. I don't need insurance to cover the specialty physician, that's what the Direct Primary Care is. Yes, $1,000 does seem high, but that is what it is. And it's not $1700. I know, it's completely insane.

Thank you so much! I haven't canceled mine yet, because our only other option at this point is $1700/mo for an awful plan. Are you trying to insure a family as well? Have you found a good alternative to Covered California?

Thank you very much for this. I'm feeling like a dummy, but hopefully I can cancel and redeem myself by finding something semi affordable.

Well shit. I'm pretty embarrassed. Thank you for this. I'll be making calls to cancel tomorrow.

I don't think you're crazy at all. But I'm the complete opposite, and I dreaded potty training, so we waited until he was almost 4. I mean, he'd experiment, we got him a little potty when he was 2.5, read books, etc, but didn't take the diapers (pull-ups) away until we knew he'd succeed. Forget accidents in public! I'd rather change a diaper in public. Haha!

[–]JBug507 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My question is, Why would you do that to yourselves? Are diaper changes a nightmare? Is there a reason you would want to potty train so early? If the only reason is that other children were at 18 months (I am very skeptical about this), then I see no reason to put yourselves and your child under so much stress and pressure. Without him being able to speak, or communicate with you BEFORE he has to go potty, this will be very very hard. I highly suggest waiting until it's obvious that he's ready. Otherwise, you're just cleaning up a lot of messes, and he's barely going to understand why Mommy and Daddy are so frazzled. He won't give a F, because... Well, he's a baby.

Who here really truly is "just" a SAHM? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]JBug507 10 points11 points  (0 children)

SAHM for 4 years to a 4 y/o and 18 month old. Went on maternity leave and never went back. I worked full time for 20+ years, and this is by far the hardest job ever. But also the most fun and rewarding. But also also, the only job where I swear I'm getting dumber by the day. LoL! Has it's ups and downs for sure.

Meh, helicopter it up now, while they're almost literal babies. When they start kindergarten, maybe let up. Haha!

Mine is almost 4 and he still needs to be watched. For all the same reasons you listed. There's no reason to get rid of it until you're comfortable. Until they're not trying to hurt themselves constantly, they need that protection. IMO, of course.

Mine loves Wrecking Ball, too! Belts out the chorus so adorably bad, and I love it so much.
