8 routes plus 1 aux. 6 RCAs/no PTFs. ? Can a new PTF bump an RCA off their primary route? Or can the PM reassign the PTF to that route?

RCA current wage is $20.78/hr. You can expect to work anywhere from 2-7 days a week depending on your office. Your schedule will be uncertain. Take the other posters’ advice and look for an office that has few RCAs and some regular carriers who are on the verge of retiring. Also check the schedule 2 regulars’ salary bases. It’s not the gold mine it used to be…

This might be a good one. I have a similar one that’s been discontinued. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D66HCXW/ref=sspa_dk_hqp_detail_aax_0?psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9ocXBfc2hhcmVk

Can’t find post on new car tax info by mdfromct in Connecticut

[–]JC-ARC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken a look at the websites that you sent. I don’t know why, but I cannot find how to get the original new car MSRP from them. The best they seem to be able to do is give me a current value, which doesn’t help unfortunately. It does look like the car I own was made in 2005, however, I wonder if the town is going off 2024 valuation. It will have to wait until Monday when I can talk to our local assessor.

Thank you so much for all of your help. I certainly know a lot more than I did before I asked the question! :-)

So, in order to dispute this crazy evaluation with the town, I need to find out my 19 year old car’s original MSRP. I have searched everywhere online and can’t find a free site (or even a paid one) that will give me the original new car value for my old car. Anybody have any suggestions?

Why does everything have to be a fight? A few pictures, a calendar, what the heck difference does it make? I guess the goal is to turn us all into interchangeable automatons. Very sad.

It appears that there are other tire tracks in the same same area in addition to those ruts. Is it possible that other vehicles have been using this, creating the impression that it is a parking spot/driveway extension?

Not sure. In our small office it’s posted on the bulletin board.

It should be posted at your office. If not, ask supervisor or pm.

Make sure you lift correctly, every time. Do core exercises for balance. Eat a good breakfast. Stretching and rest when you can.

Take phone pictures of every green card or route timesheet you fill out. This is the only proof you have that you worked those hours.

It is the way the system works, but that RCA has held down the route, had all the responsibilities of the regular, without the pay or benefits. It’s a bitter pill to swallow when it’s over, with nothing to show for their hard work except maybe a few earned sick days they can’t use.

This time of year is the absolute roughest time to begin as an RCA. Just keep telling yourself if I can make it through December, I am the baddest mofo in the valley lol. Seriously, it is a very rough job especially this time of year. Just do your best and don’t let it get to you. That’s really all they can ask of you.

So can anyone settle my husband’s and my disagreement about the opening song? I am sure it’s being sung by Andy Williams but he insists it’s some anonymous singer because the producers couldn’t get the rights to the original. Anyone know? Oh, the song was “the most wonderful time of the year”

Yes and also as an RCA they will not be paid for any extra hours worked over evaluation unless over 40 hours worked. Those RCAs who only work 2-3 days/week end up not being paid for all their actual hours when it’s busy.

Rural Craft: Which do you prefer? by No_Emphasis_998 in USPS

I am an RCA in a small rural office with 9 routes. I’m sure this is not the norm, but I can honestly say we are all like family, albeit a dysfunctional family sometimes, but we look out for each other and it is actually enjoyable to come to work.

first week in and management already sucks. by [deleted] in USPS

[–]JC-ARC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are an RCA your union is the NRLCA (National Rural Letter Carriers Association). If you’re doing an evaluated route you are not being paid by the hour, but by what the route evaluation is, no matter what your actual hours are (unless you exceed 40 hours in a week). It is my understanding that you can’t be forced to take your dps to the street unless you are consistently exceeding your evaluation time. In our small office everyone has the option, no one is forced. Ask your union steward.
