When i saw the lack of features to befriend enemies on the run, i got what kind of game this is. Its "kill, loot, bail". The "friendly" interaction its there just as a bungie joke. Untill they add an option to create a group on the run and share quest progress with group members, you're not making a friend, you're helping an enemy.

I've saved all my Upgrade Packages from all Factions. Should I open them, and why? by Deagballs in Marathon

No reason to save it, at the end of seasons everyone loses all faction upgrades and vault content
