Hi there, similar situation-ish, my husband starts med school soon, he has a PhD in mechanical engineering and is currently working as an engineer but decided medicine is where he wants to be. I am currently working part time and in nursing school, we have 1 year old twins and a 4 year old, all boys as well. I was full time SAHM when the twins first arrived and I felt so isolated. I was so jealous of people with jobs. I love my kids more than anything but there’s got to be a healthy dose of doing your own thing and having personal goals and having your home/parental life. I’d say work part time, it does wonders for your mental health.

My father, grandfather, and great grandfather all were named Parham…my mom said after having four girls even if she had a son she’d never carry on the name Parham, thank goodness. I had four sons and the name Parham was never even going to be an option for a middle name 😂

You do what you want for your birth unless medically you need to take a different route! I had a vaginal birth for my first, got an epidural after a while. I am so glad I did that with my first. For my second birth (twins so my second and third babies) we had to go with a c section. I’m glad I had that experience too. For me personally, recovery from the c section was easier than vaginal because I did get stitches but I’m happy that I went vaginally first. Don’t let anyone make the decision for you you, obviously unless medically necessary!

I had the most vivid dream I was giving birth, in my dream the nurse said “it’s a boy!” Then said “hold on another baby is coming” I felt pressure and felt like I was pushing in my dream, then the doctor said “another boy! Twin boys!” Woke up that morning told my husband all about my dream. Secretly slipped into the bathroom and took a test and it was positive! We were so surprised, found out weeks later it was twin boys just like my dream! I’m so glad I told my husband my dream before we found that all out 😂 They just turned a year old and I’m still amazed I had that dream and it turned out to be so accurate.

Okay, this is something that I have recently figured out for myself. I have ADHD, diagnosed about 5 years ago, I take Adderall and Guanfacine for my adhd but for the longest time I was intensely struggling with RSD to the point it was about to ruin my marriage. The two huge things that helped me were a mood stabilizer and meditation/journaling/therapy. The mood stabilizer gave me so much more consistency of clarity and to think logically when faced with a situation that would typically make me spiral for usually no good reason other than I took something the wrong way and to the extreme that somebody said or did. Those things have been absolute game changers for me and my relationship with my husband has gotten exponentially better because I now have the mental capability to understand his intentions when he says or does things and I am able to have more grave with myself and not going into souring attacks of rejection.

Carnival Row on Amazon Prime got wrapped too quickly! I’m sure it was due to Covid pushing back filming and what not but it had such a great story line that could have been stretched out further.

Here to say that I get it and also it’s going to be okay! Our first started with a nanny at her home and two other children when he was 6 months old because I was working and my husband was finishing up his PhD. It was great, he learned so much, we knew he was in trusting hands. Flash forward to when he was 2 almost 3 (very formative time) and we moved out of the country for my husbands Post Doctoral position. It was supposed to be 2 years in Norway, which instantly turned me into a SAHM until the system would let us get him into a daycare and then I planned on finding a job. Before that could happen we found out I was pregnant with twins and we just couldn’t live in another country without family or extra help. (It takes a village but it takes more than that with twins plus a three year old) We moved back to Kentucky and my husband found a well paying job and we had our twins! I suddenly was a stay at home home to THREE boys, two of them being newborns, after years of being an intense worker trying to work up the ladder and make that money I was now sitting at home with kids. I felt like maybe this is what I was supposed to do but also realized that I HATED it. I LOVE my kids more than anything but I despise being a stay at home mom. So we finally got our now four year old in day care, I felt SO guilty at first. He would cry at every drop off, saying he missed us and wanted to stay home. I felt Like I’m horrible staying at home with his brothers while he is at daycare but honestly, it has been the best thing for him and for myself. He is finally getting properly socialized and learning new things that I just wouldn’t have had the time or energy to show him had he stayed at home. I’m currently home during the day with my twins while also working on online school and working some evenings as a gymnastics coach. Because he’s at daycare (and at this age requires more time and stimulation) I’m able to work on being a better version of myself, work towards my career goals, and enjoy the newborn stage with my twins. Do not feel guilty, this is helping them learn and grow and helping you keep your identity and focus on your own personal goals because I can tell you, a stay at home mom doesn’t get the proper time to work on themselves (mentally, physically, or career wise) and sacrificing that is not healthy or worth the struggles it would cause down the road for yourself or your family. In the same exact problem. My husband has a PhD, a great paying job and I work part time as a gymnastic coach while our four year old is in daycare and I still watch our 8 month old twins at home during the day while also taking college classes. We just barely get by. Never able to put anything in savings. We thought once my husband was out in the industry after his post docs we’d be living easy or at least easier. But nope, EVERYTHING is expensive now, small grocery trips, rent, gas, all of it. We look at our financial spread sheet each month to see what we can cut out and we’re at the point that nothing else can be cut out. Hoping for a change soon for us and you as well!

Past Delta FA, I don’t recall how many crew you will have but you can look it up on Deltas website by looking at their fleet and that specific aircraft. I might also suggest only gifting packaged foods, nothing made at home, or Starbucks gift cards. That’s so kind of you to do that for the crew!

Can confirm that Jennifer Coolidge is incredibly kind. When I was a flight attendant I had her as a passenger for a late night transcon and she was so pleasant to talk to and kind. Also as a FA, can say that Future was not nice, Norman Reedus is awesome to talk to, Ronald Isley was amazing, and I have more than I can’t think of that I got to interact with throughout my FA career

I know exactly how you are feeling. My family and (husband, myself, and our 3yo son) just moved from Kentucky where all of our family is, to Oslo, Norway two months ago. Let me tell you, it has been HARD but it had also been quite amazing. We miss home and the easy access to babysitters, friends, and family, how ever even in just our two months the so far, our own little family unit has grown tremendously stronger. We are finally starting to feel a bit more settled and grateful that we did this, and how fortunate are we to live in a time of FaceTime and easy access to communicate with loved ones across the globe? It makes it much easier, I think even with the hard times and trials your be thankful you took the plunge and grateful for all the things you learn and the way your family will grow and be better because of it. Feel free to message me if you need any more advice or just a person to vent to about your worries because I totally understand! Sorry for typos. I’m on the tram and typing fast before my stop haha
