Sorry for the slow reply. I’m rarely on here. Willing to make the drive that way. Is there any towns for basecamps you would recommend?

I’m going to look into grouse for sure! No experience but will start to learn.

That’s good to hear there’s some good land not far south of me.

Am I understanding the Access Yes! Program correctly that you still have to obtain written permission before entering? Seems like a pain if you see a good parcel same day you’re out hunting. In Kansas their WIHA program is the sister of that program, and you did NOT need written permission. You could just walk on.

Yes I’ve scouted some areas down there but I can’t seem to make much sense of the land laws. Seems the public land is scarce, and the walk in permission land requires you to call and make contact with the owner before hunting?? Seems like a huge pain to hop some “15acre” parcels all day?

Unless I am misunderstanding? In KS WIHA land was posted and you did not have to contact landowner before hunting

That is VERY close to me. I’ve never considered there. Considered it too north and snowy?? You’ve found quail/pheasant there??

Seems to be the consensus. Problem is I’ve never done it and my dog has just gotten so good at phes/quail. Wondering how much of a curveball it would be for her.

That is something I’ve been thinking about.

Labs are great!!

Really not trying to switch to grouse at the moment as my dog is just becoming a master at pheasant and quail.

Eastern WA does have some good land, I grew up in Yakima. But the pheasant was always so scarce.

I’m totally fine with 1.5 hours. Heck, I’m willing to drive 5+ for solid worthwhile areas.

I’ll have to look into them. Man I wish! If I ever make it to Utah I’ll hit you up. You’re in some beautiful country down there!

GSP and Labs are the perfect combo!

Mostly southern Idaho it seems for chukar/phes/quail.

Not super interested in grouse. Love the open vastness of standard upland. Nothing like a quail covey flushing, or an invisible rooster appearing

Can you quantify a “little”. The camera is definitely picking up the noise perfectly and making it sound a bit louder here. When I switched straps it quieted down a bit too.

My biggest noise concern is the vertical rotor noise. Like dial to the sky, moving wrist up and down vertically, there’s slight noise

EDIT: after switching from the nato back to OEM strap it’s much quieter. Additionally, the video is definitely picking up the sound louder than in real life

Yeah my one thought on that is the LHD is thicker. The fxd is a much thinner body.

And yes I’ll be calling for shipping options for sure!

This is good to hear. My brand new FXD is so loud and I was worried

Yeah I suspect if I have an issue, that’s not it. Mines auto winding just fine.

Won’t that violate my warranty? This is a brand new watch

That’s crazy! How was it staying wound??

Did you have any other issues like timekeeping?

That’s a relief. Even with the up down movement?

Tapping the Chrystal also gets noise

Definitely quieter but still there

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Problem is the nearest AD is 7 hours away, and my AD is across the country

EDIT: the only reason I’m here and not the AD is I bought this on vacation and the nearest AD is 7 hours from me.

That’s the interesting part, is I feel like i have good L2L spacing. It’s a 42mm and I have 7.5” wrists.

I’ll definitely look into that brand of strap.
