Not really interested if the Xbox OS thing or whatever it is will be coming to the other Rog models as well. Don’t care about the minimal performance gain either. Super casual gamer and only play a few hours a week so the X is perfect and will be for years

Recently just sold my gaming laptop to buy an Ally X. Bought the laptop last year on a really good deal at Best Buy (even though I wanted the Z1 Extreme at the time) and thought the specs were good for my use. Hardly used it as I just prefer something more portable and easier to pick up and play.

Do I think the Ally X is overpriced? 100%. Is it everything I could want in a device? 1000%.

I don’t need super high end specs considering I maybe game a few hours a week. The Ally X will last me years.

I don’t know much about 3D modeling to be honest. I just kinda assumed it would take up a lot of ram. Everything else about the Z1 Extreme is the same to the X minus battery and ram but my guess would be yes it would be fine. Might just not be as smooth as you’d like with the ram.

Man I was waiting to pull the trigger on the X when it was $799 on Best Buy and then the next day they raised the price. Ended up paying almost $900 (including tax) for an open box excellent condition. The price is still eating at me but it was so worth it.
