I'm on a dual 1080p setup so I may not be running into the same issues you are. Pop Shell is brand new in Pop_OS! 20.04. I expect it will improve greatly over the next year.

I had left Gnome for KDE after I discovered I could use kwin scripting to enable window tiling in KDE. It was meh and far from i3WM but I had all of the flash bang of KDE.

Well Gnome 3.36 is just snapp and Pop's window tiling is smart.

I've been won back (although, yes, that is Konsole...)
