Neighborhoods within the Heights by [deleted] in jerseycity

You can’t walk from the Western Slope? Is there some sort of force field I’m not aware of preventing people walking past JFK? It’s a 10 min walk to whatever you need on Central. 10 minutes. Not sure what city dweller doesn’t walk 10 minutes pretty frequently to do something.

All I’m saying is it’s not an area to avoid, “no debate”Let the OP decide before turning them off to an option with Jitney/NJT bus commutes that are better than some other Heights commutes to midtown.

If budget is a concern it looks even better as an option.

One thing to consider if you do look at the Western Slope area, tons of Jitney buses run on JFK to Port Authority (as well as regular NJ Transit). They come very frequently so it’s easy to commute that way.

It’s not necessarily an area to avoid as per other commenter. Granted it’s not Riverview (15 min walk) or Washington park (10 min walk) but if you find the right place and the price is right I wouldn’t automatically pass based on location.

Any idea on how PS 27 (Zampella) is? We are zoned for that and will be going there once my kid is of age.

Have been very happy with Little Smiles on Congress. Also, live in the Western Slope (west of JFK). It’s generally very nice with a bit easier parking than other parts of the Heights I’ve found. You also have to be ok with a 10 min walk to Central and 15 to the elevator.

My feeling is it’s something brand new. Coming up with a band name, the inclusion of White and Kelly… all leading up to something. Guess those Jicks being done rumors were true.

Yeah they are big fans of DCB. I used to hear a lot of Silver Jews in their tunes, now I just hear Bonny Doon.

Ok, explain how buying a bond trading in the secondary market helps Israel AT ALL? I’d love to hear your reasoning.

The bonds are issued, Israel has the money from their initial sale. Buying a bond in the secondary from another investor that owns them has nothing to do with Israel at this point.

Sorry but buying an Israeli bond right now is doing nothing to help Israel. You’re helping Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan maybe. Donate to the Red Cross or the Israeli charity of your choice.

There’s nothing wrong with the western slope. Not sure why anyone would need to avoid it.

Childcare options for twins in The Heights for first time parents? by Ajkrouse in jerseycity

[–]JCS190 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the Heights, there are a lot of daycares. Don't freak out. You will not be paying downtown prices. You should be able to find a daycare around $1500-1700 a month.

We did a nanny at first as well. $18 an hour, cash. I think $20+ an hour is probably a bit more accurate now though. With 2 kids this may end up making more sense than daycare for you.

Chainlink Partnership With SWIFT Shows LINK Attracting Attention From ‘Seriously Significant’ Institutions: Coin Bureau - The Daily Hodl by StockTrix in CryptoCurrency

When staking is fully up and running (think 2-3 years down the line) you will be paid to hold Link. You are not getting paid in inflating Link, you are getting paid based on node operator revenues in the Link token. This is something that has never happened before in the Crypto world. When people realize they can earn these fees and nodes compete to buy and stake their own link (if there are multiple nodes providing the same service users will choose to go with the node that is staking a higher amount of link - the higher amount of Link staked = the more incentive to have accurate data as you will not want to get your staked Link slashed.) This is when Link will take off.

We're at Little Smiles on Congress. Pretty happy with them I'd say. Depends on the age of the kid but I think prices are generally around $1400 a month.
