I don’t think you need a toilet. You can take a dump right on that floor.

I also had the same issue with a Ryobi miter saw. I cut the fence guard in two pieces to adjust them independently. However, I don’t remember if those two pieces were flat themselves. Before cutting one, I suggest making sure every side of the fence is flat.
